Billy set the mug down in front of Penny.

"Hot chocolate," he said, taking a seat beside her on the couch. They were at a cafe, and it was so good just spending time with her.

He slid his hand into hers and leaned in, kissing the side of her head softly.

"Thank you," she said, smiling at him. She took up the mug with her free hand and took a sip.

"Mm, it's good," she said, looking over at him and smiling.

She leaned over and kissed his cheek. She was so happy.

Brooke scanned the cafe for empty seats. They were taking a break from the baby clothes shopping, for a coffee and something to eat.

She paused. "Penny," she said, quietly. She gasped. "Oh, look! That must be Billy. Aw, they made up!" she said, glancing at Lucas.

"She's our neighbour, the one we met after the hospital," she said. "She was having boy trouble, but she's not anymore. And aww, look, they're adorable!" she said.

"Ooh, and they have free seats, let's go say hi," she said.

Lucas looked at Brooke when she paused and then looked over where she was looking.

"Yeah, his name is Billy. I've met him," he said.

He grinned at Brooke. "I couldn't exactly forget that. It's the day I proposed to you," he said, squeezing her hand.

"Well I'm glad that she seems over her boy trouble. Billy seems like a nice guy," he said. "Yes, lets," he said, walking over to Penny and Billy with her.

"Yeah, it was," she said, squeezing his hand back and grinning at him.

"Wait, you know Billy? Woah, small - alternate reality city thing," she said. "Guess that shouldn't be surprising."

They reached the table and she smiled. "Hey, Penny," she said. "We don't want to interrupt or anything, but apparently, Lucas and Billy know each other too."

Billy looked up, he recognised Lucas. "Oh, hi," he said. He looked at Brooke, noticed her bump. Lucas' pregnant girlfriend. He looked at Penny, and then back at Brooke. "You two know each other?"

Penny looked up and smiled at Brooke. "Hi, Brooke," she said, softly.

She looked over at Billy when Brooke said that Billy and Lucas knew each other.

"Hi Billy, nice to see you again," Lucas said. "You too Penny."

Penny smiled at Brooke. "Yes, we're met a couple of time," she said to Billy. She looked back at Brooke and Lucas. "You're welcome to join us," she said, indicating the chairs near them.

"Wow. What a crazy random happenstance," he said. "Yeah, great to see you too," he said to Lucas.

Brooke smiled. "It's great to meet you, Billy," she said as she sat down, arranging her bags under the table.

"Uh, yeah. Lucas mentioned you. Uh, congratulations," he said, smiling nervously.

Brooke grinned. "Thanks, Billy," she said. She smiled at Penny, he really was adorable.

Lucas sat beside Brooke, smiling at her. He draped his arm around her.

Penny smiled back at Brooke.

"Well I told you she was my girlfriend. That's changed. She's now my fiancee," he said, grinning.

"Oh that's great," Penny said, really happy for Brooke.

"Wow, uh, congratulations again," Billy said.

"Thank you," Brooke said happily. She held out her hand so they could see the ring. "He got me a ruby ring because we're going to name the baby Ruby. We're having a girl," she added.

"Aww," Penny said, admiring the ring. "It's beautiful."

She smiled wider when Brooke said she was having a girl. "That's amazing. I'm really happy for you both."

Lucas couldn't keep the smile from his face. He was so happy.

Penny took another sip of her hot chocolate and set it down, leaning against Billy a little.

Lucas looked over at Brooke. "You must be starving. I'll go up and order," he said. "What can I get you?"

"That's great," Billy said. "And uh, good name." He rested his head against Penny's, rubbing his thumb along her hand.

"Oooh, a cookie," Brooke said. "And if they have cupcakes, get me one. Lemon. No, chocolate," she corrected. "One of both? And a pastry," she added. "Any kind of pastry."

She paused, bit her lip sheepishly. "Please?" she added.

"Sure," he said, smiling at her. He pressed a kiss to her temple before he stood up.

He walked over to the counter to order.

"He seems really nice," Penny said, smiling at Brooke.

Brooke smiled when he kissed her temple, and watched him walk over to the counter.

"Yeah, he kinda is," she said, turning back to Penny and Billy, smiling widely. Billy gave a small smile.

"So how are you guys?" she asked, looking between them meaningfully.

Billy blushed slightly and looked at Penny. "Um, good," he said. "We're - we're good."

"Yes, we're good," Penny said, looking back at Billy and smiling at him.

She looked back at Brooke. "Thank you for listening," she said.

"Any time," Brooke said. "And thank you for listening to my meltdown."

Billy looked between them. Had they talked about him? He was glad she'd had someone to talk to, he hated the thought of her being upset and alone. He squeezed her hand gently.

"You're welcome," she said, softly.

She squeezed Billy' hand back and kissed his cheek.

Lucas came back over with Brooke' order and a coffee and chocolate chip cookie for himself. He set hers in front of her and sat down beside her again.

Brooke grinned. "Yay," she said. She gave Lucas a peck on the cheek. "Thank you," she said.

Billy sipped his drink and looked at them. They seemed like a great couple.

Brooke swallowed a bite of cookie.

"Ooh, you wanna see what we got her?" she asked.

"You're welcome," Lucas said, smiling at her.

"Oh yes," Penny said, excitedly.

Brooke picked up a bag and took out a little pink summer dress. "I love this one. Isn't it so cute?" she said. "It has a hat and everything!"

Billy smiled slightly. "Wow. Are they really that small?" he asked.

Penny squealed when she saw the summer dress. "Oh gosh, it's so tiny and adorable," she said.

Lucas smiled at Brooke. "Yeah, it's a little terrifying. But so exciting," he said.

Billy glanced at Penny. She was so excited over the baby things, he found it adorable.

"I know, right?" Brooke said. "They are so tiny. Look at the shoes," she said, rummaging in another bag and pulling out a pair of teeny yellow shoes.

"Oh my gosh," Penny said, looking at the socks. "They're so cute."

Lucas smiled at Brooke. He was so excited about the baby. He took another sip of his coffee.

Billy looked at Penny, seeing her all excited over babies made him think about ... things he shouldn't be thinking about because it was way too early.

Good things though. He squeezed her hand.

"I wanted to get everything," Brooke said. "But I was good," she sighed.

Penny looked at Billy and smiled.

"Yeah, there's so many cute tiny things you could get, it's hard not to buy everything," Lucas said, grinning.

Brooke grinned. "She's gonna have more clothes than I do by the time she's born," Brooke said.

"When will that be?" Billy asked.

"August," Brooke said. "Sometimes it feels like it's so far away and then other days it feels like it's really soon."

Lucas chuckled at Brooke. "And that's some achievement."

He rubbed her back gently. "Yeah, I can't wait til she's born."

Penny smiled at them. "I'm so happy for you both."

Brooke narrowed her eyes at Lucas, but she was grinning.

Billy nodded. "Uh, yeah, congratulations," he said.

Brooke leaned against Lucas and took a bite of her cupcake. "Mm, this is so good."

Lucas set his mug down and wrapped his arms around Brooke. He pressed a kiss to her temple, placing his hands on her bump.

Penny smiled at them. She was really happy for Brooke. She seemed so nice.

She looked at Billy and smiled. "Oh, we should go walk Suds. He hasn't had a walk today."

Brooke settled in against Lucas, sighing happily.

Billy nodded. "Yeah," he said. He smiled at Brooke and Lucas. "Uh - nice meeting you," he said.

Brooke smiled widely. "You too, Billy," she said. "See you around."

"Nice seeing you both again," Lucas said, smiling at them.

Penny smiled at them as she stood up. "Bye, nice seeing you again."

She took Billy's hand and headed out of cafe with him.
