Who: Alice and Bella (OPEN)
What: Arriving and being stuck
When: Late afternoon-ish
Where: Outside the library, then on to building B
Rating: G for now

After being none-too-kindly escorted from the library by the guards, Alice found herself out on the streets of a strange city. In the daylight. Oh, that was unfortunate. She was standing in the shadow of the library, but venturing outside of the shadows would mean exposing herself. It didn't take a genius to figure out that no one girl could wear enough body glitter to sparkle the way she would if she were to go skipping down the sidewalk before the sun went down.

The first thing she tried to do was call out to Jasper. Her mouth opened, but nothing came out of it. Alice clamped her lips shut very quickly, her amber eyes going a little wide at the realization that she couldn't speak. She was actually kind of scared now. Closing her eyes tightly, she focused first on Jasper, trying to see his future and what was going to happen, but her vision went blank. That frightened her too. She tried to calm down by telling herself that he was probably holding Reneesme or something. But just in case...

Alice fumbled around for her phone, but instead found a strange PDA. Brow furrowing in puzzlement, she fiddled around with it and found it personalized to her, even though she'd never seen it before. She attempted to dial the number of Jasper's cell phone, but it wouldn't connect to him. The petite vampire with the pixie hair, unable to express her frustration vocally, stomped her foot and pouted almost like a child. What was this?

It was inconvenient, the constant sun, but it could have been a lot worse. Bella was liking this place less and less. First Renesmee had vanished. Maybe back home? And how she couldn't talk. No one could talk. She was simply lucky that she could push her shields away so Edward could hear her thoughts. Not for long periods of time, but she was working on it. She'd gone to run a few errands in the city, she could have waited for night, but with her car, and the right parking areas, she was fine.

Driving past the library, Bella nearly slammed on the brakes when she noticed a very petite figure by the large, extremely annoying building. A huge grin broke over her face at the sight of Alice there. Though her features fell when she didn't see Jasper. He wasn't here with her. This wouldn't be easy on her.

Still, she expertly maneuvered the car, and turned it back around, driving the outrageously flashy vehicle that still irked her slightly toward the library, as close as she could it. Her passenger window, closest to the stairs and Alice rolled down, and she leaned over to wave at Alice from the shaded protection of the car. if she hurried, no one would notice the dash to the car. Hopefully.

Alice was almost to the point of beginning to pace. She didn't like being stuck outside in the sunlight. She could probably make it somewhere safe by sticking to the shadows, but it would be very unfortunate to come to a dead end and get even more stuck than she already was.

That was when she heard the purr of a car. A very expensive car, at that. She looked up and immediately let out a (silent) gasp of relief. She knew that car even before Bella rolled the window down. Seeing her sister-in-law made Alice break out into a large, bright smile despite her confusing circumstances.

The car was close, but Alice still worried about making it. What would passing humans be more likely to notice: her skin or her speed? She decided that her skin would cause more of a ruckus, so she glanced around to make sure nobody was staring at her outright, and made an inhuman dash for the car. It wasn't nearly as fast as she was capable of running, but it was still faster than a regular human should have been able to move. Hopefully nobody noticed. She slid gracefully into the passenger seat of the car and pulled the door shut, blocking out the sun and hiding her skin.

She looked over and attempted to vocalize her gratitude to Bella, forgetting again that she couldn't speak. Closing her mouth again in frustration, she pointed at her throat and shrugged.

The second Alice was in, the window was already rolling up, cutting off the outside world from her car. Her foot was still on the breaks, and she grinned as Alice slid into place beside her. She'd missed her terrible since being here. She'd missed them all, though she was hoping none of them would show up without the other. For instance, she wanted Jasper there.

She touched her hand to her own throat, and mirrored her shrug. Reaching to the back seat, she pulled her bad of paper and pen to the front seat, and quickly wrote across the paper, her hand writing hadn't changed that much over the past few months, she was rather attached to her messy scrawl. No one can talk. Something about 'Gentlemen' and stealing voices. Welcome to Colligo. We can't get out. her face flashed with annoyance for a second before she turned the pad around for her to see what she had wrote.

Shrugging, she put the pad and paper down and put her foot on the gas, bringing them back out onto the roads that lead to the resident areas. She gave it maybe a few minutes before Alice was worried about restalking all of their closets, but she wouldn't tell her about how little their selection of clothes was just yet.

Alice read the note Bella scribbled quickly, biting delicately on her lower lip as the full meaning of the words hit home. She picked the paper and pen up from where Bella sat them and thought for a moment before writing her own note in a neat, flowing script. Is anyone else here, or is it just us? She worried about the family. If Edward didn't know what was going on and that Bella was safe, he'd be having fits and making everyone else miserable. She was confident in Jasper and his ability to handle himself, but he must be worried too, and she hated not being able to see his future.

She held the note up for Bella to read. Colligo. Had she heard of that before? No, not that she could recall. But the question to Alice wasn't really where they were, but how they'd gotten there. She didn't know of any power that could simply make people appear in another place.

She reached out to take the paper and pen from Alice, keeping one hand on the wheel. Balancing the paper on her leg, she wrote on it without looking at the paper. Edward is here. Renesmee was here, but she seems to have gone. Jake is here too as she wrote the last name, her lips turned up into a slight smirk. She didn't know when Alice was from, but based on her reaction to Bella's current state, it had to be from when after Bella was turned. But how she felt about Jake, she didn't know.

She gave the paper back to Alice, her eyes hardly ever leaving the road as she sped along, it wouldn't be much longer until they were at the resident buildings. She sped around another car, one of the locals, who didn't even seem to notice her, and then turned, the resident buildings coming to place. Bella pointed to Building A and B, wonder if she'd get the point. Maybe she could see them going into the building in a few minutes.

Bella pulled out her PDA, clicked a few buttons, and then held up the screen for Alice. It displayed which building and room she was in, and that she lived with Edward. She knew Alice would catch on and check to see where she was.

Alice nodded as she read the note, reaching out to take the paper back. At least Edward wasn't back home going absolutely crazy and neither was Jake, but it was unfortunate that so many seemed to have been brought here. Though, if Renesmee had come and gone, maybe the rest of them could find a way to leave too. She was disappointed that Jasper wasn't listed among the ones here, but she had known that he wouldn't be. Something about this place kept her from being able to see the family members that weren't here. How frustrating.

Seeing the buildings and realizing what Bella was getting at, Alice pulled out her own PDA and found her room assignment. It disturbed her a little that her name was already on a room when she had only just come here. She pointed out Building B and closed her eyes. She saw a vision of Bella and herself walking into the building, no one seeming to take notice of the two women who sparkled as they moved quickly inside and away from the sun.

I can't see any trouble, as long as we hurry inside she wrote on the paper, turning it for Bella to see.

She glanced at the note as she pulled into the parking lot of the building. She pulled the Ferrari into a shaded area in the parking lot so she could get her bags from the trunk without drawing attention. Grabbing her purse and car keys, she locked the door when both of them were out of the vehicle, and kept to the shade as she went to the trunk and pulled out her bags.

They were both in building B, that was good, just one room apart. Bella missed the security of the Cullen home, and her perfect little cottage in the woods, and the security she felt there. It was frustrating to have to live around so many humans, the intense burning in her throat had died down in the last year, but it still had its moments. She looked to the door of the building from where she stood under the shade of the tree and then looked to Alice.

She had said if they hurried, they'd be okay. Nodding to the door, she looked around the parking lot, and then took off in blinding speed toward the building they had to live in.

Alice let Bella get her things while she looked around the area, carefully keeping to the shade for as long as possible. She hated not having her hearing to rely on to make sure no one was getting too near. True, her senses of sight and smell were still fine, but she couldn't look everywhere all the time. But she kept her eyes peeled all the same, watching for anyone that might be suspicious. She could smell humans, but none seemed to be close enough to cause the two vampires any trouble. Her visions were too subjective to just blindly follow them. If someone changed their mind and suddenly decided to walk this way, she and Bella could be in serious trouble.

Alice smiled at Bella in answer to her nod. This no talking thing was already irritating her beyond reason. Alice was a talker. A split second after Bella took off, the petite vampire gave the parking lot one more quick glance over, then sprinted after her sister-in-law. She stopped as soon as she was in the safety of the door and away from the sun. To any human around, it would appear as if the two had just appeared in the lobby. It was a nice enough place, though she was already getting homesick.

Pulling the pen from behind her ear where she'd stuck it while getting out of the car, she wrote another note on Bella's pad of paper. We're going to have to start acting like Dracula and only going out at night. The corner of her mouth twisted up in a wry grin.

Bella looked from the note, to Alice's face and sighed silently, rolling her eyes. Since she started her new life, this really was the first time she had needed to worry about sunlight. All the time. She motioned to the stairs, and sniffed. There were no humans on the stair case, they could move quickly. Smiling, she turned and sped up the stairs to her and Edward's floor. She didn't stop moving at a human pace until she reached her floor, and held open the door for her and Alice. She motioned to her apartment, and then pulled out her keys from her key chain.

Once they were infront of her door, she unlocked it and pushed it open, stepped inside, and went into the living area. Dropping her bags down onto the floor, she picked up another pad of paper and pen. Bella had no idea where Edward was at the moment, but she knew he'd be gald to see his favorite sister here.

This place is ridiculous. There are other vampires here as well. Different from us. Different from any kind we know of. she wrote it down, and then held it out for Alice to see. At least she was pretty sure they were vampires, it was the only explanation she could come up with.

Alice followed Bella, happy to be moving at her normal blinding speed. It was so freeing to be herself and not have to worry about humans seeing and asking questions, even for a few seconds. She supposed she should be more careful, but it really was fun. She took note of the number on Bella and Edward's apartment door. It was exactly a floor below hers she guessed, assuming the floor plan of the third floor was the same as that of the second. That was good. It was almost like being at home... just living with a bunch of other people too, and not just her family.

Alice looked around the apartment. It would do, she supposed, but the rooms really did need some sprucing up. She could take care of that. Some new curtains, some throw pillows. In fact, she could do wonders with this place!

The note Bella wrote her caused Alice considerable concern. Her eyebrows knit together and her lips tightened. When Bella mentioned other vampires, of course the first thing that popped into her mind were the Volturi. Or the newborns. But the Cullens knew how to handle those particular threats. They weren't something different. She thought for a moment, then scribbled out a single word for Bella to read. Dangerous?

Her eyes darted across the note in response, and then shrugged. At blinding speed for humans her hand went across the paper, writing her answer out. Don't know. They were polite enough. One seemed concerned about controlling her thirst. One was with a human. But manners doesn't say much. After all, Aro had manners. Overly fake manners, but still. Manners.

She went to the check both of the bedrooms, but she knew Edward wasn't there, but maybe he would show up soon.

Going over to Alice again, she frowned, writing down more on the paper she was holding. What was the date back at home before you arrived here? were they from close to the same time? How was everyone at home? How were the others at home dealing with them missing? Disappearances wouldn't be taken lightly.

No, manners certainly didn't count for much among vampires, but if they were spending time with humans or attempting to control their thirst, then perhaps they at least wouldn't cause any trouble for what Cullens were here for now. If they didn't threaten Bella outright, then there was hope. Alice would just have to keep her guard up. She nodded at Bella and watched as she got up and searched the apartment.

He'll be back Alice wrote, holding the pad up for Bella to read. Then she put it back down and wrote another note below that one in her usual neat, flowing script. It was 2006. Why? She shot Bella an inquisitive look. What did the date matter?

She smiled, nodding once. Bella knew he'd be back, but still. After Renesmee had vanished, she was more than a little worried that maybe Edward would do the same. Being trapped here without him? She wasn't really sure if she'd handle that very well. But she'd still have Alice. Assuming her petite step-sister didn't vanish as well.

It was 2007 for me. she held up the bad, her razor sharp teeth biting against her marble skin. They were from different times. Didn't the colour in her eyes give it away? In 2006 her eyes wouldn't have been as gold as they were now. When Renesmee was here, she was ten. people were arriving from all over the time and space.

Alice blinked once in her surprise, then held inhumanly still as she considered this. As if it weren't confusing enough to suddenly find yourself in a strange place, but apparently a strange time. That must have been why none of the Cullen family had noticed Bella, Edward, and Renesmee missing. They were all from some other time.

Feeling a little crestfallen at the thought, Alice wrote another note. That's why I didn't know you were gone. We all would have been searching for you if we'd known. What she left unwritten was that if she hadn't realized before that Bella was gone, that probably meant none of the others realized it now. And therefore, it was entirely possible that no one had noticed that Alice herself was missing, not even Jasper. Which meant no one had any reason to search for them. They were on their own, as far as Alice could tell.
