Who: Robin and Marian
What: She's decdided to visit him. And They're gonna get married!!!!
When: Evening
Where: Robin's Apartment/ and out in the Village
Rating: TBA
Status: Closed/Complete

After they had met again in this place, Marian found out that she would die in a few months time if she ever got back home because Robin came from the time after that had happened. She was still happy to have him here and she had given him some time to get used to being in the city after that as well, but she wanted to see him again. She missed him, and she always missed him. She decided she would surprise him and go to his door in the evening.

She knocked on the door, standing in front of a small house that had the same number that his room number would have been if it was still the apartment building and waited for him to answer.

Robin answered after a few moments of shuffling, blinking as he saw the woman standing in the doorway then grinning a little bit and leaning against the frame as he answered. "Missed me already?"

He was glad she was here. So much was going through his head at the moment- books scattered about the main living area, mostly on the tabletops and floor. At least half a dozen, propped down to hold their spots in various places as Robin would go from one to the other to reference. He was piecing it all together- taking it all in unable to read cover to cover.

Even in his hand now was one such tome entitled 'The Tale of Robin Hood and the Shepherdess', which proved to be very...different.

Marian smiled and shook her head at his words. He was always trying to be charming, but it didn't always work on her. She looked passed him and into the room at the books everywhere as she wondered what he had been reading, and then she saw the title on the book in his hand. Tilting her head to see the binding and read it clearly, "Robin Hood and the Shepherdess, Reading up on local legend, are we?" She smiled at him and folded her arms across her chest. "I'm not sure I like the thought of encouraging you any further. You already have the need for glory." Her teasing clear in her tone and smile.

"Yes, well a bit of studying never hurt anyone, did it?" A wink and he stepped back to let her in. "Oh, c'mon. You can't tell me you haven't been the least bit curious about what they say about us." Robin glanced back at her as he came to stand in the midst of the room. Had she already been through this, he wondered. "How much have you looked into, exactly?"

"Yes, it has, and it could clearly hurt your shot with me." She didn't even skip a beat with that answer. She came and stood next to a stack of books and picked up the top one that about the two of them in particular. The binding read, Robin Hood and his Marian Then she shrugged and looked over at him, a pensive look. "I looked at this one. From what you have told me, they got it all wrong." Her mouth a frown as she put it back down. The legend in that book spoke of them getting married in a church and lived quite a few years together before Robin was taken from her, not that she was taken from him with barely enough time for them to get married. She wasn't sure which version of the story she liked more, they both left one of them without the other.

His grin fell as she stared at the book...he'd read that one too. First, actually...curious how off the legend was. The story had made him cry, not that he would ever admit it. His heart ached, almost willing it to be true. Quietly he looked back at her and whispered. "Things could still change." He met her eye. "Not...not where I came from, but for you...should you stop what happened...knowing it would happen, if you were sent back maybe...maybe you could prevent it and we could have that ending."

An ending they deserved. Painful as it would be to leave her, the idea of years together was on the forefront of his mind. He stepped closer, setting the book in his hand on the desk. "I still dream about it, you know. What could have been. You and me at Locksley with a family..a simple life."

She gave a small smile at his last thought, but didn't know what to think if she could have changed it. She didn't think that she would do anything more cautiously. If she were to go back, she would still be the Nightwatchman, and she would probably still find herself protecting the King in the Holyland. How would any of that change things? "I'm not sure I would do things any different, even knowing that."

Then she stepped closer to him herself, but still a bit apart from him, this time smiling. "I remember when you told me not to visit your house until it was yours again. I have thought about it as well." Looking just left of him, thinking about having a family together in Locksley. She would have loved that, but she knew that it would never happen. They could have a family here, but thier friends would not be around.

"You could, though..." He whispered. "Back...you mentioned you were in the tree with Lardner and I...I remember how that ended." That started it all. The chain of events that would lead to her death. Robin took a breath. "Whatever happens, don't go back to Guy. I know you will think it's the only way, but don't. That's where it all begins. That is why you were kidnapped to the Holy Land...why you were eventually killed. Just...whatever you do stay in England." Anything to save her.

He cracked a sad smile again and went on. "We could have that here. Try to, at least. Rebuild. Some of these people have been here for years..who's to say we will ever go back?"

She looked away from him. He was telling her what to do to stay alive if she ever got back to the time she came from, but she didn't know what would happen to him if she were to do what he was saying. What if she did things different, and he was the one who ended up dying? Or that she didn't go to the holy land and Guy succeeded in killing the King? His life was much more important than hers, but she didn't go there for an argument, and he would never give on that, so she looked at him, and conceded, though she was not sure what would happen if she did go back. "Alright." It was only a whisper.

She sat down on one of the chairs in the room, looking up at him, a small smile. "Years? Are you sure?" She wanted more than anything to be with him, and not have to leave him, but she wasn't sure.

She agreed. Her word was good enough for him and he stared before slowly smiling. Maybe things could be different. Maybe they'd find a way to make them different. For now, he just gave her a slow nod and came to sit down in another chair, watching her as he shrugged.

"I'm not sure of anything, anymore. But..I know that some mentioned being here for that long. And who knows? Maybe we will be here for all that time as well. We might as well make the most of it, right?" He smiled at her. It was their chance to have a peaceful life. No Sheriff to defy or king to protect. Maybe Robin could look at this as the best opportunity one could offer.

She smiled at him, and gave a nod, that yes, they should make the most of the time they had together. Marian then decided she needed a distraction from the conversation they were having. They were here now, and she would deal with being back home, and her iminent death, if she ever did get back there. She picked up another book that was close by, this one entitled Robin Hood and Little John She showed it to Robin. "What does this one say about John?" John had always been a good friend to her, and helped her in her time of need after he father had died.

He was happy to let the subject drop at the moment, not wanting to dwell on such a dark topic. His eyes cut to the title of the book and he smirked, reaching over to take the book from her. "Oh yes...this one is half-right at least. They claim that he tried to rob me and I challenged him to a duel with the quarterstaves. They claim I lost." Robin smirked at the idea.

"I've never fought John hands on..at least not as that depicts, though he did tie me up when we first met." A little laugh and Robin shook his head. "It's not as bad as how the describe Will."

Marian smiled as he spoke of what the history books said had happened between him and John. She liked that story, and it made her think of the rest of the gang she called family as well, now that she had been living in the forest with them for a couple of weeks. She missed them, but all she needed was Robin, and he was sitting right there with her, telling her they could get married and have the life they always wanted in this strange place. She laughed at what he said about John at the same time he did and stood up. She walked over closer to him. He was too far away. "How did they depict Will?"

She then looked over at the pitcher they kept water in. It was empty, and she was getting thirsty. "Fancy a trip to the well. I would very much like a drink of water."

"Well, usually the dashing roque." He smirked, trying to imagine the Will Scarlet he knew as such. "Young, brash..I wonder where they got that idea about him." Robin shook his head and smiled as she came closer.

"Water would be good..or maybe just fresh air. I've been couped up in this place too long." He wasn't used to living in doors quite yet, not after so long in the forests. Standing up, he stretched his legs and nodded for her to follow him, holding the door open for her with his usual grin.

"So...tell me what you've already read."

Marian smiled and let out a laugh herself thinking of Will in that fashion. She couldn't even imagine it. The Will they knew was much too quiet to be considered as so. She followed him to the door, smiling at her thoughts that he must not be happy being inside. She knew he had spent so much of the last few years out in the forrest that the buildings were probably to small for him, though, she had been there with him for a few weeks of it.

"I have not read that much about us. I did not want to know how the story ended. The only one I wanted to see was ours, and that one was aparently wrong." She smiled and took his hand as they stepped out of the house, as she had in the woods a few days before she had arrived here. How she had missed him.

Her hand felt..perfect. That was the only way he could describe it. She fit him so well, and Robin could only think of how nothing else in this world could feel better than having her so near. If the price to pay to have her back was transportation to this strange world, so be it. He squeezed and offered her a warm smile as they stepped out.

"I can't blame you, there..." There was something a little imposing at first about reading about yourself. It was still so odd to him, to think he was somehow a 'legend'. Even more known than the king he served.

"Did you know they say I could hit a sparrow from four miles away? A sparrow??" Robin scoffed and shook his head. "Really...I don't know where they got that idea. Three miles, maybe, but never four." A little grin as he looked up at the clear sky and noticed how beautiful the day was.

She smiled and looked over at the love she had come to miss so much in the time he had been away in the holy land until he came back and they had found each other once more. She wanted to never leave this place, being with him, but she thought once more about what they needed to do, needed to be, for England. Her face turned back to a frown for a second before she turned away from him again. That would always be in her mind, but she would be happy with him while they were in this strange place.

"Well,I could one from four miles away." she teased. She was very gifted with the bow, but not that gifted. He was much more skilled than she was, and he had even been the one to teach her.

"Could you now?" Robin laughed as he squeezed her hand and winked, stepping toward the well and teasing. "Braggart." He didn't mean it as an insult, merely a joke, enjoying the fresh air..and the time spent with the woman beside him.

"So...I've been thinking on that proposition... I realize that we will need an income while we're here and the sooner the better, yes?" Robin was plotting aloud. "Well, I've started looking around and considering our options...given our popularity in literature." Strange as it still was. "I thought I'd ask if anyone else might mind paying a coin or two to learn a bow It is a valuable skill, after all." He grinned. "Not just for robbing from the rich, either."

Marian smiled at him answering his teasing at her with the smile he should have known well. She loved him so much, and here, he could spend everyday with her, and not worry about being seen by the wrong people, or being hurt or killed in a fight with the sheriff's men. She was actually starting to like it there, with him.

Then as they approached the well, he started going on about finding work, and teaching the bow to others around this new place. She smiled a very wide smile at him. That excited her, she couldn't wait to see him teaching, and being honest about his living, instead of stealing. "Robin, that would be wonderful, and it is a very valuable skill. Especially given the time." She looked around herself. In a time like this, the two of them didn't really need money, they could survive off the forest as they had back in Sherwood.

"Hmm..yes...well, I thought that after a time I might grow bored enough with simply waiting." A small smile crossed his face and he looked down to shrug. "I mean, I've never been the sort to spend too much time with my own thoughts. As you know." A wink and a grin, leaning against the well, his arms crossed over his chest.

"I rather keep busy..and I never wished to be dishonest in my living..only when forced." In Robin's mind, it was the Sheriff that was the criminal, never him.

She looked down the well, it was very low to be the only well in the city. She smiled at his words because she knew well he did not like to stay with his thoughts very often. She leaned up against the well, very close beside him. "I do know." She looked ahead of her and saw the church across the pond that was in the village. She considered asking him right then if he wanted to take the vows they had waited long enough to take, but then she decided they needed a little more time here together, unless he was the one to ask.

She turned back to him, after he spoke of his dishonest living, rolling her eyes. "I realize you think you were forced, but you could have worked like I had, from inside the law."

"Oh? And what do you call the Night Watchman?" He was smiling despite her criticism of his circumstances. "I suppose you think running around in a mask and defying the Sheriff was well inside the law?"

He knew they both knew those acts were not. She'd defied the law of the land and the Sheriff to do what she deemed right, just as he had. She just hadn't sacraficed her title to do it.

Marian sighed and turned around so she was facing down the well, her hands on the stone walls of it. She didn't like when he brought these things up. She started bringing up the bucket from the well, not looking at him. "At least I did not need to leave my home and live off the forest."

Robin had her. And that boyish smirk remained on his face as he took a seat on the well, leaning with his hands on either side of himself for balance and moving closer to her to wink and remind her. "But, you did eventually, didn't you?" Reminding her of the fact that she ran off with him as soon as her father had passed.

She leaned back away from him. She did not like it when he was right. "That is not the point. I could not pretend around those people anymore with what had happened, and of all people, you should know that the most." She was very upset with him. He should have known the reasons she had run off with him. She pulled the water bucket up to the wall of the well, and between them, putting a bit more space there.

Marian sighed again, and turned around so she wasn't facing him any longer. She didn't want to fight with him, though that was always what they ended up doing. She was facing the church again, and leaning against the wall of the well. "I don't want to fight over this, Robin. It does not matter here." Still not looking at him, but at the church across the village. This town looked so much like the time they had come from, apart from the living houses.

He too stared at the church for a moment, sensing the urge to avoid a full out argument from her. He appreciated the sentiment, not wanting to fight either. He had almost forgotten what had even gotten him so riled up as they both seemed fixated on the building, and suddenly Robin stood up straight again, taking two steps forward and slowly smiling before he turned to Marin to ask her seriously. Marian looked down to him and her smile only grew as he said the words she had longed for him to say. She had heard him say them once, but this was a different Robin, from a time they had already been married, and a new engagement for a new time and place. "Robin of Loxley, master of the bow, champion of the poor, and lord of my heart, yes, of course I will marry you. Right now, if that is what you wish." Those words. They almost made him choke. A different Marian..a different time and a different place. Where they had both thought they would die undoubtedly far away in the Holy Land...but only one of them did. He couldn't think of it now. He had her here. A new chance as he stood and she kissed him.

His arms wrapped around her, practically picking her up as they kissed and grinning broadly when she pulled back. She said yes. Right away. He laughed and kissed her again and gave a nod. "You're sure?" Stupid git was asking her, but before she could answer, he kissed her then pulled her back toward the church. "Come on then!"
