Who: Marian and Buffy
What: Roommates meeting
When: Night, just after dinner
Where: Thier apartment.

Marian walked in the door to an empty room, as it has been since she had arrived in this place. Every time she came back to her room, she noticed the other name on the door, Buffy Summers, but she had yet to meet this person. She wondered if it was a woman or a man that was supposed to share this apartment with. She sat down in a chair in the living room next to the window, so she could see out and sat there staring and thinking about how different it was here, and how much she missed Robin. Only when she was alone did she let her gaurd down enough to let her emotions show, and as soon as the thought crossed her mind, that she might never see Robin again, the tears came rolling down her face and started letting it all out.

Buffy knew she had a new roommate. The truth was? She was just...busy. She came home late at night after patrol, which was becoming endlessly boring considering the lack of vampires in this town, and getting up early to train. Without a watcher, she was her only coach. For the first few weeks, Buffy hung out in her room and tried to do the normal girl routine. But when she got home, and she became rusty, what would happen then?

Tonight was the first night that Buffy decided to just head home early. She slipped into her room and noticed her roommate sitting by the window and she cleared her throat, closing the door behind her. "So, you must be the roommate. I am the elusive but charming Buffy." She tried to muster a smile and took a few steps toward her roommate only to see she was crying.

"Oh hey, my bad. If you need some alone time..." She started to back away. "I can come back."

When she heard the woman speaking she jumped up, rubbing her eyes. She was a pro act composing herself so as to hide her feelings. She hated that she had been caught. "No, it's alright. I was just thinking of someone who is still where I come from." There really wasn't any way for her to descibe how much she missed Robin, and even the way the other woman described herself as elusive but charming reminded her of him. She walked over to the woman, now almost no evidence on her face that she had been crying, "I am Marian. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Uberformal. All right. "I know the feeling," she said as she sat down on the edge of her bed and brushed a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Nice to meet you Marian," she added while she studied the young woman's face. She offered her a comforting smile.

"Thinking about your boyfriend?" she asked softly because, let's be honest, she had totally done that for the first few days she arrived. Well, that and Giles. And her mom. And her friends. And there was a whole thing about an apocalypse. The rush of the list made her chest feel heavy and she had to remember that a future Angel being here was a sign that she got back. At some point.

Right?

As Buffy made her way to sit on her bed, Marian sat back down in the chair she had been sitting in, which was facing the television that Marian really didn't know how to operate, or even what it was. She looked at the other woman, as she spoke exactly what Marian was feeling, though the word boyfriend didn't mean much to her.

"I was thinking of my betrothed, Robin." She had even been thinking of her father, but she would never see him again, even if she did make it back to her home.
