"Impressive," Seven replied, casting him a sideways glance. "It has been my experience that many from Starfleet are unaware of the impact astronomy made upon early Earth civilization." She meant it, too. Most by her time were so used to traveling the stars that they often forgot their humble roots. The fact that someone like James T. Kirk clearly had not was a pleasant surprise for the normally jaded young woman.
Her attention returned to her data at his question. "Despite what the architecture might depict, we are most assuredly not on Earth," she surmised. "I would wager that we are likely nowhere near the Terran system and the stars are little more than a projection."
Her fingers danced across one of the keypads while her attention remained on the data on the large viewscreen in front of them. Another image appeared, this one a mere snapshot of the skies as seen from the day. "Further analysis shows that the pollution which should be present on the planet is also lacking."
Pausing, she thought for a moment before turning her head to look fully at Jim. There was an almost uncertainty in her gaze, and her tone was troubled as she added, "We have been brought to a location which resembles Earth during a specific period in time yet clearly that is not the case. I am... uncertain as to the reason behind the deception. The fact that whoever is responsible is capable of keeping us here in the first place should make their desire to comfort us with falsehoods irrelevant."
