WHO; James T. Kirk, Leonard McCoy, Nyota Uhura, Spock
WHERE; Astrometrics Lab
WHEN; the afternoon of December 9th
RATING; TBA

Just when he thought he had it all figured out, the distribution of ranks and the chain of command set up, Colligo threw more curve balls their way and sent people home and brought people back. Nurse Chapel had left, the EMH had informed him of and double checking the PDAs for room assignments had only confirmed what the hologram suspected, and Ambassador Spock had arrived. Kirk had barely spoken to the old Vulcan, but he wasn't quite sure how to handle both Spocks being here -- not that both of them didn't already exist in his timeline back home. It was easier back there, with one on the bridge of his ship and the other on the fledgling Vulcan colony where there was a considerable amount of distance between them...here, not so much. Of course, he was currently unaware of the fact that the younger Spock was well aware of the older Spock, still under the impression that the universe would come unraveled if the two knew about one another.

That was one of the things he needed to tell them about. Uhura knew, he'd told her about that months ago after they'd both arrived in Colligo. This Bones didn't know and to his knowledge, neither did Spock. It was time to clear that up, as well as redistribute ranks and talk more with Uhura on what they were going to tell Gaila. She deserved to know and they needed to be the ones to tell her.

He left the door cracked so the crew could let themselves in and set to running through a few scans while he waited for them. Seven was out looking into some research at the university, so it was just him until they arrived.

Spock had been keeping to himself a bit as of late. Following his pon farr, he had once again resumed what few duties he did have as first officer. However, they were quite few and far between considering their situation and, while he knew logically that sequestering himself away from the rest of the crew was hardly going to help him find more useful ways to spend his time, he also knew that the current feeling of restlessness that had arrived soon after his pon farr had ended was not something the crew was best subjected to.

So aside from Nyota, he had made very little contact with the others. He had instead done quite a bit of meditating, focusing on keeping his emotions under control in an environment that was far more emotionally tumultuous than Starfleet Headquarters could ever hope to be. He was to the point now where he felt as though he was once again in full control, and had intended on contacting the Captain to discuss the recent events that had plagued the city.

As always, however, Jim Kirk managed to get there first.

Vaguely amused at the fact that the man had literally contacted him mere minutes before he'd been about to do the same in return, Spock had of course agreed to the meeting. He arrived at the Astrometrics Lab at the time requested. Nyota was running a bit late but would be there shortly.

Seeing the door cracked, Spock saw no reason to remain in the hallway while waiting for her arrival. He instead pushed open the door and, with his hands falling to be clasped together behind his back, peered around the room as he stepped inside. He made his way to the portion of the apartment that served as Astrometrics, hovering in that doorway for a moment as he gazed around.

It had been some time since he'd seen the place, and they had done quite a bit of work in the meantime. "Impressive," he finally spoke, his gaze flickering to the man currently at work at one of the computers. He didn't see Seven of Nine, however, and arched a brow slightly at her absence.

"I presume the Lieutenant is not to be present for the meeting?"

Doctor McCoy had also been keeping to himself since his arrival, or what could be adeptly described as his return, after what he had been told by the various inhabitants who had pounced his transmission and that had caused tension between Jim and himself. Using the PDA that he had been ladled with should have been simple enough for a man who came from the future, but he still had trouble using the 'damn device', as he had began to affectionate refer to it, until he saw a summoning from Jim to discuss an overdue discussion.

Oh, joy.

Finding the Astrometrics Lab proved to be no hardship, but his upper lip curled in distaste once he opened the ajar door and saw that Spock, of all people, had beaten him to this meeting and ambled inside grumbling under his breath. He eyed Spock, wondering if he did anything to piss off that pointy-eared bastard the last time he was supposedly here, but pushed it out of his mind and glanced over at his best friend and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Reporting for duty, Captain."

"She's out for the moment, yes," was Kirk's simple explanation. Finishing up the scan, he turned away from the console in time to catch Bones striding into the room, looking as grumpy as ever. He supposed part of that was his fault, as he'd yet to really apologize for the way he'd acted when the Doctor had arrived -- or re-arrived. It'd taken Gabriel reminding him of the nature of this place and how screwed up the timelines were for him to even think about taking him not remembering ever having been here into consideration. He could be such the such the idiot at times.

Uhura wasn't here yet, but that okay. She knew about the first part of this, after all, so he could begin without her.

He glanced over at the table with it's...one chair. Seven preferred standing and he didn't really do anything in this room that required sitting, but the one chair wouldn't do.

"Hold on," he told the two of them, ducking out of the room, twice, to bring in more chairs -- one from his bedroom and three from the kitchen, one of which he nearly dropped on the doctor as he passed him, but somehow managed to get all three into the room successfully.

Once the chairs were in place, he took a seat and gestured for them to as well.

Uhura had been trying to keep herself busy lately. The sheer lack of things for all of them to do duty wise had left a lot free time to try and find some way to use up without just sitting around and doing nothing. Recently, Uhura had been going over to the university and taking out books on subjects that she'd never really had the opportunity to study before given her focus on linguists. She'd been going through some mathematics when she'd gotten the message to meet in Astrometrics. Closing up all of the things that she'd been working on before she left, it took her a few more minutes than everyone else to get over to the room. She'd stepped into the room just in time to notice Jim shuffling chair while the other two just stood there and watched. Muffling a vague amusement, she'd stepped into the room behind them all, slipping over to one of the chairs and taking a seat as she leaned back and just passed her gaze between the three other men.

Wait.

Were they the only ones left here?

Perhaps, Spock reflected once the chairs were in position, he should have offered to carry them. Given his own superior strength, it would have been the logical thing to do. However, the one thing that Spock was quickly beginning to learn when it came to Jim Kirk, was that logic rarely had much of a place. More than likely an offer to assist would have somehow inadvertantly insulted the man, or something equally puzzling to take place.

It didn't matter now, of course. The chairs were in position and, now that Nyota had arrived, Spock moved to one of them to take a seat as well. His gaze flickered briefly toward her, all but hearing the unspoken question within his own mind.

He felt very little in regards to the disappearances of the others, personally. They were back on the Enterprise, back in the time from whence they came. He would see them again, eventually. However he would admit to it not seeming that the losses were so great until faced with just how few were present within the room.

Spock's attention slid across Doctor McCoy, tipping his head ever so slightly in acknowledgment of the man but not willing to actively engage him in conversation lest it cause an argument of some sort. Then he looked to Jim, waiting for the Captain to begin.

McCoy pulled a face as Kirk nearly whacked him with the chair that he was passing to him and instead rolled his eyes, taking a seat when his crewmates did the same, nodding curtly at Spock in return to his acknowledgement and looked at Jim wordlessly, arms crossed against his chest as he sat there and waited for the overdue discussion to begin.

Kirk looked first to Uhura, as if to silently signal her on what he was about to speak of being something that she was already well-aware of. Whether she understood what look meant would come later, for Kirk didn't have the patience this time of year to sit around and wait for confirmation when he could already be getting to the point of the matter.

"I've asked you all to come here to inform you of the presence of someone from the other timeline, the one that wasn't distorted by Nero," he began. "As most of you know--" He looked to Bones, as this Bones probably wasn't aware of any of this (and part of him wished he'd taken the man aside before hand and cleared up any confusion that might arise, but at least it was coming out now and Bones could ask whatever questions he needed to and Kirk would honestly answer them). "--Seven is from that timeline, one of the reasons her presence wasn't needed here. This person..."

Here's where Kirk trailed off, unsure how to phrase this with the alternate version of the man he'd mind melded with in that cave on Delta Vega sitting at this very table. And for a moment, Kirk's eyes shifted to Spock, then to Uhura, then back to Spock again before he settled his gaze on the table itself. It was best to look at something inanimate that couldn't express any sort of reaction while he said this.

"He's the Spock from the other timeline."
