Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who:Juliet and Shawn
What: Random meeting!
When:November 9th, evening.
Where: A cafe.
Warnings: awkward Jules is awkward, but otherwise none.

Juliet wasn't thrilled with this world, but she was adjusting. It wasn't like she really had much choice. Apparently none of them were going to be going home any time soon, so there was no real reason to fight it. So she thought mentally. Physically she'd tried getting to the edge of the city once already. Sure enough like Makoto said it was impossible to leave. There was no getting out. She hated that feeling. It gave her the creeps inside and so she leaned on food for comfort. Somethings never changed.

She needed normalcy even if ti was only the slightest in a world full of weird. So she stopped at a small cafe that reminder her of home and sank into a window seat to people watch, and she ordered a glass of ice tea and a muffin. No more chocolate for now. She didn't have the stomach for it. Which was odd, Juliet always had the stomach for sweets. But now it didn't look that way. Now she was to worried about the city, weather or not she'd be able to ever get home to her real life. Worried about what she'd say to a certain psychic if they ever crossed paths.

Shawn exited the restroom of the cafe just after Juliet sat down. He grinned to himself. He could have some fun with this. He crept up to the counter, glancing quickly over his shoulder at Juliet's table as he did so, and also ordered an iced tea and a muffin just like hers. Then, grabbing his food, he sauntered by her table, pretending to suddenly notice her.

"Jules!" he crowed, smiling broadly. "Fancy meeting you here!" Then he looked back and forth between the food on her table and the things in his hands. "Wow. We must be sharing a psychic wavelength." He nodded to himself, still grinning.

"This seat taken?" He sat his muffin down on the table and placed a hand on the empty seat, looking at Jules expectantly. He doubted she'd turn him down. She was probably really lonely for a friendly face. At least he had Gus around all the time. If she wasn't alone, then all she had was Lassie. Shawn didn't envy her that... except playing with Lassie really was hilarious. But that was neither here nor there.

Shawn definitely had the advantage here. She hadn't noticed him until he approached. Looking up at the sound of his voice she tilted her head curiously and raised a blond brow. "Shawn?" To soon to see him, way too soon. She hoped the look on her face wasn't too strange when he sank down. "Er, no. But.." But what? It wasn't like she would just deny him. It wasn't in her. She gave him a strained smile.

Juliet felt a mix of things she couldn't exactly place when he joined her and all she could do was smile awkwardly. She was no where near the Queen of Confrontation. If there were a title for avoidance she'd hold it. She'd been doing pretty well until now..

"Ice tea?" She questioned looking at the cup in his hand and gave a faint look of amusement. "Coincidence." She stated..until she noticed the bag. If he had a muffin, she might just lose it. She was trying to fight away the out of place anxiety and just enjoy the off beat charm of the psychic like she used to, but it was hard with those three little words hanging over he her memory.

"Awesome," Shawn answered before Juliet had even completed her thought about the chair not being taken. He took his seat and a deep sip of his ice tea. It wasn't his favorite by a long shot, but he had to keep up appearances. And it was fun to play with people, he had to admit.

"Yeah, you're right. Just a coincidence." He offered her a small grin and a nod, gesturing to their glasses. Then he pulled out a muffin identical to her own. "Yep. Total coincidence." He took a bite, spraying crumbs on the table in front of him and not seeming to care. Jules seemed a little strange today, but for now, Shawn just assumed that she was still thrown off by the new surroundings. After all, what else would she have to be so distracted by?

One would think by now Juliet would have caught on to Shawn's shenanigans. But nope, she was clueless as ever and could only be amused with his antics until he pulled a muffin and she raised a blond brow. "Shawn.." She started, a nearly scolding tone to her voice but really. She couldn't come up with anything only to give him an awkward laugh and shake of her head.

"So maybe there is a connection." She almost cringed at the word, because in psychic and relationships (which were floating in her head) were totally different definitions. And she awkwardly looked back to her plate where she toyed with the muffin more than ate it. "Am I the only one freaking out here?" She was pretty calm for someone freaking out, but Jules on the inside was goo. On the outside she knew how to keep up appearances, it came with working by someone like Lassiter.

[ooc: sorry about the delay, I had to take a miniature hiatus!-but I'm back!]
