"You're welcome," Fred replied with a bright grin, happy to have backed the woman up on what she wanted. Salesmen had a way of being way too pushy and things ended up purchased that didn't need to be. It was also possible that she was just too easily swayed.
She picked up the boot that had come off and picked out the broken lace. "I know, right?" Fred wrinkled up her nose. "I think they forgot that old adage, 'the customer is always right.'" She hesitated. "Although they're not always right but when it comes to matters of personal preferences in shoes? Definitely right."
