Movie night

Despite himself, Simon had learned to live without luxury. So the thought of having money to spend that didn't need to go straight into food and medical supplies, time that didn't need to be rushed, and no fear of the Alliance coming after him and River were all rather new to him at this point. He decided not to waste it.

Simon didn't consider himself a jealous man, but truth be told, Kaylee always managed to hit that one button the moment she took interest in another man. And that was before he had admitted his own feelings. The fact that she had just been on a date with another Doctor hit that button hard.

So Simon was determined to make up for lost time and hopefully, not muck it up like he usually did.

He had been to the grocers and gotten an assortment of fruits and candies, and a large bowl of strawberries, both normal and chocolate dipped. He also got several gallons of ice cream in various flavors (again, strawberry being forefront). After hearing about the Star Trek thing, he went to the video store. He checked all the isles to see if there were any shows about them, but (to his relief) there were not. Not knowing anything about any of these movies (he really should have asked one of the people from the twentyfirst century for advice) he grabbed an assortment that looked interesting and paid for them as well.

Finally, he passed a book store, so he decided to stop in and see if they had anything he could get Kaylee as a gift. He browsed for a bit, and ultimately bought some books on cars, not knowing if they had anything in common with the engines she was used to.

Laden with his packages he made it back to the apartment.

"Kaylee? You in here?" He asked as he let himself into the common room they shared.
