Noah didn't quite understand why people seemed so shocked by this. He and Parker understood each other. And they got along with one another better than they did with most other people. It just made sense, at least in his mind, that their relationship would follow something at least resembling the natural progression of such associations. Besides, it had been months since he and Sandra had split up and, while he missed his ex-wife, he still deserved to be happy. He certainly wouldn't begrudge Sandra her own happiness if she found someone.
"Claire," he said with a laugh, "I'm forty-five...I'm not exactly ancient. And Parker...isn't as young as you think she is. Besides...I'm happy with her. That's what matters, isn't it?" He shrugged. "I'd like for you to get to know her. I think the two of you will get along, if you give her a chance."
