He'd thought her sudden physical presence right next to him, especially after movie night when all he could think about was how she smelled and felt, would have startled him. But it didn't really. It was Heather, and yes she smelled good and Cassidy was kinda curious what she would do if he brushed her hair back from her face, but still his friend. But he couldn't deny the extra edge in the air, anticipation for something else.
"Hey, Harry," he said, smiling, hands clasped on the table in front of him. He looked down, took a breath. "So, um... sorry I took off on you like that. I needed to get some things straight in my mind." A waitress came by, and with a more enthusiasm than was necessary Cassidy demanded apple beer. After taking Heather's order, the waitress left, and Cassidy glanced at Heather. "I"m just so scared," he said softly. "Of ruining things. With you. I need you around."
