Taking an available seat, Molly gave a faint shrug of her shoulders. "A little long," she admitted as she studied her ice cream cone. Deciding on a spot to lick, she smiled back at Alexis. "We talked about fractions. I don't really like those much," she added.
With her legs swinging back and forth, feet not quite brushing the ground, the girl took another lick of her ice cream before asking curiously, "What about you? Anything interesting happen?"
Molly wasn't dumb. She'd noticed the less-than-happy expression on the other girl's face when she'd approached. She wasn't so big about herself to think that she alone could change her mood, but she did hope that she might be able to at least get her thinking about something other than what was upsetting her. Unless it was school that was the reason, although Molly didn't think it was.
