CHARACTERS: Katherine Danvers & Open
LOCATION: Approaching a heavily wooded area in the city
TIME: Evening, after it gets dark
NOTES: Werewolves in her world need to change around once a week, and Kate's already pushed it.

She'd pushed it long enough, Kate had tried locking her door and simply changing in her room, but that had been before she landed a super-hero roommate. It didn't matter that they were apartments now, she wasn't going to risk the discovery. So after the sun had set, before she had to go work that night, Kate had changed into some older clothes, hopped the transportation system, and then walked the rest of the way to a more wooded area. She couldn't put it off anymore. She needed to Change, and the most she put it off, the harder it might be. She was just going to have to get use to not having the security of Stonehaven, or the woods she'd learned to call her own in Toronto, the ones she knew her dad would have used when he was there.

None of the locals seemed to give her much of a thought as she passed them, so she was really keeping an eye out for anyone that wasn't a local. When her feet left behind pavement for grass, she felt a little more safe. As far as she could tell at the moment, no one was following her, and she wasn't picking up a fresh trail from anyone who might have come this way to the woods.

She reached out and touched the first tree branch that was closest to her, running her fingers over the bark, and breathing in. The smell of woods, but still no comparison to the one she knew. Looking over her shoulders to double check, she stepped into the forest and began walking deeper into it, enjoying the sounds around her that didn't involve the city.
