Who: Alice Cullen and Clark Kent
What: Facing her fear, walking around, etc.
When: Right after sunset
Where: Sidewalk on the way to the park
Warnings: A little blood, but totally PG

Alice kept her hands shoved down as far as they would go in the pockets of her dark denim jeans. The petite vampire's lips were pursed and her brow furrowed as she made her way down the sidewalk. Any other time, she most likely would have been skipping or dancing, but not tonight. Her mind was preoccupied with the fears that just wouldn't leave her mind. She knew that it wasn't real, that the visions would go away if she would just face her fears, but it was harder than it sounded.

Pausing for a moment to lean against the brick wall of a building, she pulled her pale white hands out of her pockets and looked down at them. They were stained with blood. If her face could have gone paler, it would have. Her throat tightened and a look of physical pain crossed Alice's face. Maybe she should have stayed inside. She could smell too many people. She was terrified that she would lose control and hurt someone. She'd worked so hard with Jasper to keep him from doing something just like that that she could imagine the hurt and disappointment on his face if she slipped and drank human blood.

Quickly shoving her bloodstained hands back into her pockets, Alice continued to walk quickly toward the park. Maybe if she found something not human to hunt, she could keep this feeling at bay.

Clark was sort of happy that he wasn't being attacked by the fear demon. He felt bad for everyone else, but if he was in fear... it would be worse for anyone around him. He doubted it was because of being an alien. It was probably because he had faced his fears. His greatest fear was being experimented on, along with Lana finding his secret and killing him, and Lex plotting against him.

But.. Lana did find out his secret and everything was fine. Lex had actually turned against him. He had been in a torture cage composed of kryptonite-induced bars. Plus there was that time that Brainiac overdosed him with silver kryptonite; his fears grew to paranoia. But he overcame them after awhile, the splinter was removed, and he moved past it.

So that was probably it. That didn't change that others around here needed help. Not just from themselves, but also in the city. Crime can still happen here. So, he walked the streets, eyes searching out trouble thoughts, his sensitive ears listening for any sounds of trouble. As he walked on, he noticed a young woman walking in his direction...

Alice smelled the man before she looked up and actually saw him. Immediately, the combination of smell and sight made her mouth water and her throat ache. It caused her to stop dead in her tracks, amber eyes going a little wide as she looked up - way up - at the man. She was just plain thirsty.

Don't do it, don't do it, don't do it... she told herself again and again. She wasn't like that. She didn't feed off people. But another glance down at a hand that she pulled free of her pocket showed it stained with red. Or at least she imagined it was. Then it occurred to her that she was staring like an idiot.

"Sorry," she muttered, looking down with every intention of just brushing past the man.

Clark had a suspicion that this woman wasn't really alright. He wondered if it had anything to do with this fear thing that was going around, infecting this person and that person. It had to stop. He didn't quite know what her fear was, though, if indeed she was one of the ones being attacked.

"No need to be sorry," he said, looking at her with concern. "Are you alright? My name is Clark, by the way. Do you need anything?"

Upon closer inspection, Alice noticed that something smelled a little... off about Clark. She was still more thirsty than she'd been in a long time, but it helped a little. She closed her eyes for a moment in an attempt to get a vision of the future to see if she was going to attack the man, but nothing would come. It was blank.

She blinked in surprise and looked curiously at him. He wasn't a regular human, but she didn't know what he was. "Um... no. No, but thank you. Just... feeling a little funny, that's all." She paused for a moment before remembering her manners despite the strange circumstances. "I'm Alice."

Clark looked confused for a moment as he saw her close her eyes briefly. She was either tired, exhausted, thinking, stressed.. or praying. He really had no idea which. Then he saw the glance of surprise. "I've felt funny myself, sometimes," he said with a nod.

He reached out to shake her hand. His name. Yes, he should do that. Maybe not his birth name, the normal one should do. "And my name is Clark... Clark Kent. If there's anything you need help with, just let me know. I'm used to helping people by now."
