Severus's heart both soared and plummeted at the same time, if that were possible. Lily's voice almost always made him smile, but she shouldn't have tacked him down. This was the last time Severus would take clear skies as a good omen.
Severus stopped, it was too late to not talk to Lily, but he wasn't about to give up where he was staying, it was also Merlin's secret.
"I think that is dependent on how this meeting ends," Severus turned to face Lily, which might or might not have been a mistake. Sad eyes took in the sight before him. Lily, as always looked wonderful and inviting - which is the exact opposite of how Severus needed her to look at this moment. He needed to stick to his resolve and Lily by just being the perfect person she was was making that a very difficult thing to do.
"You shouldn't have come," Severus was more weary than frustrated - well a bit frustrated, but he wouldn't be Severus if he wasn't. "Need I remind you of the last time I said we shouldn't meet?"
