Who: Elfangor and OPEN
What: Staring at the grass
When: Morning
Where: The park
Warnings: None yet

Elfangor, or Al Fangor as he was known in this human form, was sitting on a bench in the park, soaking in the sun. He was barefoot, his feet planted firmly in the grass, and he was staring intently at his feet. Had he been in his natural Andalite form, he could have eaten the grass through his hooves. He still wasn't entirely used to having a mouth again. He also missed his whip-like Andalite tail with its scythe blade on the end. He felt so exposed, so weak and helpless as a human. How humans survived was still beyond him.

In a way, it was nice to be back in the human form he'd kept while he lived on Earth a few years ago. The technology had advanced, as evidenced by the PDA he'd been given upon arrival, but it was still light years behind Andalite technology. And he could spend time with his son in public. A giant blue centaur-like figure was bound to stick out walking down the street. But he still missed Loren, his wife. He had no idea what had happened to her. Even if he saw her walking down the street right now, she wouldn't remember him. The Ellimist had made sure of that when he'd wiped her memory.

So Elfangor just continued to stare at his bare feet, wishing he could taste the grass again.

Lee was trying out this whole, hobbies thing. So far he'd done not much more than work, cook (which was one in the same, really), and exercise. And read. But reading was what he was doing now. He took out some books and his PDA (it seemed foolish to go anywhere without it in this town) and ended up at the park. He walked to find a comfortable place in the grass to sit and read. He couldn't remember the last time he'd had the leisure to sit and read a book outside on a planet. It had to have been before or during flight school.

He passed a man staring down at his grass and...he didn't have shoes on. That was curious. "You okay there?"

At the sound of a voice, Elfangor looked up curiously. Someone was speaking to him. "O...kay?" he asked curiously. After a second, he continued. "Oh. Yes. I am quite well, thank you."

He smiled at the other man. He still wasn't entirely used to the human's spoken language again. It was fun, of course. He liked having a mouth, but slang like 'okay' still tripped him up sometimes.

Lee crossed his arms examining the man briefly. He didn't seem unwell, he just seemed...very out of place. "Are you sure? You're not new in town or anything are you?" Lee wasn't certain if this man was one of the seemingly personality-less inhabitants of the town or amongst the ones who were displaced like he was. By his answer and lack of shoes, he wasn't sure.

"I have been here for..." Elfangor started in answer to the man's question. He paused and seemed to calculate his answer in his head. "Forty-nine days, three hours, and twenty-seven minutes." He turned and smiled at the other man. That was one nice thing about having a mouth: you could smile to show friendship toward someone. Loren had taught him that while they were married.

Something else she'd taught him came back to him. It was polite to introduce yourself and offer a hand shake, so that was what he did. "Hello. I am Alan Fangor. You may call me Al." He smiled again and held out his hand. The fact that he wasn't wearing shoes and that this might be considered odd still escaped him.

Lee blinked. That was a scarily accurate answer, but he smiled slightly back at the man. He didn't seem dangerous, just...different. More different than anyone else he'd met here so far. "Pleasure to meet you Al," Lee replied, shaking his hand. "Lee Adama."

"It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Lee Adama." Maybe he was getting better at this human thing after all. Maybe he wasn't as rusty as he thought he was. "Have you been here a long time? You do not act like the native people." Elfangor still hadn't figured out the natives of Colligo. They rarely spoke and never answered questions. It was frustrating.

Lee shrugged. "A month and a half. I can't say exactly," he smiled slightly. Especially since time reckoning here was a bit different from back home. Same basic system, but the names of everything were different. "No, you don't either." Not really. He was slightly strange, to be sure, but the natives were strange in quite a different way.
