Who; Dean, Jo
What; Naked Battleship obviously
When; However long after their talk it takes him to go to Walmart and back
Where; Jo's apartment
Rating; Naked Battleship?

Dean usually wasn't one to over think things, at least when it came to women, but there was nothing but thinking that occurred on the way to Walmart. And while scouring the aisles for Battleship (and he swore up and down he would go postal on the happy face telling him to save if they didn't have goddamn Battleship), hell he almost asked the cashier for advice when she rang the game through (and looked at him a little oddly, Dean supposed grown men buying Battleship at eleven thirty at night was probably a little strange and just gave her a charming smile in return). The ride back to the housing building wasn't much better. And as he parked his car and headed towards Jo's door he still hadn't a fucking clue what to do.

On one hand they could play naked Battleship. Which were it anyone but Jo he wouldn't even second guess. But it was Jo, and Jo was better than him playing naked Battleship with her and not calling in the morning (well, he would call it would just weird and awkward probably and he sure as hell wasn't the kind of guy she needed to have in her life in that way). Plus there was the matter of her mental state at the moment. Taking advantage of a situation was something he couldn't claim to have never done he had just hoped he had some semblance of self control when it came to Jo. Because in the end it came back to that. It was Jo.

Dean shifted the bag containing Battleship into his other hand and knocked. He was still entirely unsure what he was even about to do but he couldn't just stand outside her door all night.

Jo had managed to settle in on the couch watching old reruns of Cheers, which wasn't her idea of a good time, but if she was focused on the television, she wasn't focused on anything that had to do with dead mothers popping up all over the place. She was seeing the visions more and more now, and even when she did end up falling asleep, all she did was toss and turn from the nightmares until she just woke back up again. The conversation with Dean on the network had distracted her very nicely, and even though she couldn't believe some of the things she'd said, she just brushed it off as random joking back and forth. She never thought in a million years that Dean was actually serious about going out to Walmart and picking up Battleship so they could play a few naked rounds of it.

But that was exactly what he did.

At first, Jo wasn't sure who was at the door so late, but really, there was only one answer, and she had assumed as much before she even opened the door. When she did, though, there was no hiding her surprise in spite of that.

"You...actually got it," she said a bit lamely, but try as she might to stop it, she ended up grinning a little a moment later, stepping aside to let him in. "And you actually found it."

"Which was surprisingly hard," he commented with a small chuckle. "And don't even get me started on the fact they sell a girly Ouija board," he said as he walked into the apartment. Now that he was here it seemed like even more of a loaded situation but if anything he could call it a success for the mere fact he'd actually gotten her to smile despite the crappy situation.

He heard the familiar voices of Cheers and looked to her with a raised brow. "Missing work something?" he asked with a bit of a teasing tone.

"It's all that was on," she replied, smiling a little again and motioning off towards the television. "You know, besides informercials and cartoons. Cartoons I don't even like." She shrugged a little, took a quick glance around the room to make sure there was nothing there all of a sudden, then looked back to Dean.

"So, ah...you really got it." Yeah, that's right, state the obvious and make the situation seem ten times more awkward. But why did it have to be so awkward, really? Jo was desperate for anything that would take her attention away from everything that was going on, and it wasn't like she hadn't wanted to do something like this with Dean for a long time. If he was finally giving in to some degree, what was the problem? She could think of a dozen, but she'd done enough thinking in the past few days than she probably ever had, and she wanted to quit for a while.

"Are we just gonna play naked, or is it gonna be like strip poker?" It sounded so ridiculous, but as long as it was working, she didn't care.

Awkward, women and Dean Winchester usually didn't go hand in hand. But yet here he was, lamely holding into a bag containing Battleship and feeling like a tool. He'd be a liar that naked Battleship and all the things such a euphemism contained had never crossed his mind in regards to Jo. Especially now that they were stuck in bizzaro land together. And it was getting harder and harder to keep lying to himself that she was just a friend.

"Uhhh... strip?" yes, words come out of ones mouth, way to go, he chided himself. "I mean, yeah, like poker, more fun that way," he rephrased and offered her a grin. He was so going to hell. Again. He probably should have brought more JD. Not that he needed to be drunk to play naked Battleship with Jo but maybe it would make his new found case of idiocy go somewhere else for the night.

Jo was still in awe that Dean was even there, let alone the fact that naked Battleship was the reason for his visit. Maybe she really was going crazy. Maybe seeing things wasn't the only thing that was going on. Either way, she would take this over the visions any day. And...she was thinking too much again. That really needed to stop.
"Okay then," she replied with a grin, leading the way into the bedroom, because there was no way they could do it in the open if her roommate walked in, right? "I'm pretty much a Battleship expert, though. And you don't look like you wore many layers..."

So they were going to her room, which was, well, Dean couldn't lie, terrifying. He couldn't even fathom the number of ways this could go very, very wrong. And God forbid Ellen show up one of these days and find out he played naked Battleship with her daughter. Her very emotionally fragile at the time daughter.

But he justified to himself that she wasn't exactly stopping him. And she knew, he had made it clear that he wasn't the dating kind so it wasn't like she had no idea what she was signing up for. Friends could have sex, couldn't they? Especially if sex could distract from something like Jo was experiencing.

"More than you," he said with a wink and followed her into the bedroom.

She had to laugh, shaking her head a little even though she knew it was true. She'd already gotten into sleepwear, a pair of shorts and a tank top, but that was it. Absolutely it. If she'd known she was going to play a strip poker version of Battleship, she would have thrown on half a dozen layers beforehand.

"Yeah, well, that doesn't matter. If you don't lose, you don't have to take off any clothes. And I won't lose." She moved to smooth the covers down on her bed, which had gotten tangled up thanks to her restless nights lately. Then, she sat down on one side, leaving room for him on the other so they could set up inbetween them.

"I almost told you to forget the game altogether," she said all of a sudden, before she really realized what she was saying. But once the words left her lips, it was too late. Instead of trying to backpedal, though, she just let it go and gave him a smirk.

The fact that she was wearing next to nothing had definitely not been lost on Dean, and if anything was probably helping him towards the lets play strip Battleship decision. Especially since he fully intended on cheating and putting his Battleship in the shape of an L.

He sat down across from her after giving her a freebie and tossing his jacket onto the chair in her room. Dean nearly choked on his own breathing at her comment and coughed to cover it giving her a smirk in return. "Well, where's the fun in that?" he managed to get out and pulled out the game. Somewhere he was damn certain Ellen Harvelle was plotting his death.

She hadn't been sure if her comment would be taken well, what kind of reaction she would get from Dean, but when she saw him choke and cough, she grinned immediately. "I know, I know. It was just a momentary lapse of insanity, sorry." She knew if she would have just suggested the naked part without Battleship being involved, Dean might not have been so willing. He surely would have made some kind of excuse as to why it wasn't a good idea.

She fell silent for a few moments as she went about placing all of her little ships around the board, but she wore a light grin the whole time. She needed to thank him for this somehow, but figured ending up naked would probably be thanks enough.

"B6," she said once they were both set up. "Ladies first, of course."

"Of course," he said in reply with a bit of a smirk and regarded his mess of a Battleship board to find B6. Which oddly enough her first guess was on the mark. Too bad there was another ship under the one he put the peg on that in his mind had not been hit at all. And he highly doubted she'd call B6 again.

"Well look at that," he muttered and shrugged out of the button up he had on over his t-shirt.

"F3."

Jo gave a grin of delight, unable to help herself as she glanced up just in time to see Dean removing his first article of clothing. "Told you I was an expert," she replied, then looked down at her own board to find that F3 was a miss. Again, she grinned.

"Nope, sorry!" Except, of course, she wasn't sorry at all. She had on three pieces of clothing, and she knew that he didn't even really have to sink one shoip before she was completely naked. That was the whole point of the game, but still. "Um...E7."

Dean couldn't help but wonder if he was going to regret this whole game playing with Jo thing at the triumphant grins. If he lost, which he had no intention of doing, he doubted he would ever hear the end of it.

He perked a brow at her next guess. "Jo, have you ever even played Battleship before?" he asked her with a chuckle. "Because you got a hit on B6 why in hell would you go with E7 as your next guess?"

He grinned. "That's a miss by the way."

"Yeah, like I'm gonna give away my genius strategy to you," she replied haughtily, putting her marker down. Really, she had no strategy, but she did know better when it came to the general rules of the game. She was just feeling a little distracted, but by Dean now, rather than the chaos that was going on in her own head. Just the thought of him eventually sitting across from her without wearing anything was enough to shake her Battleship skills up a bit.

"Your turn," she chirped as she looked over at him, a brow arched and one corner of her mouth lifting upward into a smirk. She knew what her next move was going to be, but she just hoped he didn't get a hit with his.
