WHO: Willow Rosenberg and Dawn Summers (open to Buffy Summers if she wants to join)
WHAT: Dawn believes she's become an active Key again. Willow's going to investigate.
WHEN: Not long after this.
WHERE: One of the parks
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress

Willow was worried. Actually, worried was a bit of an understatement. Worried signified that she was still thinking clearly but just had a little more than concern taking place. Using that definition, Willow was downright terrified and frantic. And, although she was doing her best not to let it affect her, or to even let it show, even she couldn't stop the slight trembling that had taken over her body as she quickly teleported from her bedroom to the park where Dawn was located.

If asked, Willow couldn't say for sure how she knew which park to check. She'd simply gone with what Buffy had told her - that Dawn was in a park - and had allowed her magic to guide her. Whether it was because Dawn was actually an once-again active Key or whether it was because she just wanted to get to Dawn that badly, her magic did its job and she appeared in a small clearing not far from the girl that she sought.

She knew that Buffy might show up and was, truth be told, more worried about that than Dawn herself. The last thing Willow wanted was for the Slayer to blame herself if something went wrong. The other last thing that Willow wanted was for something to go wrong in the first place. She loved Dawn like a little sister and she certainly didn't want to lose her to this... whatever it was. Yet she also knew, if things looked like they weren't going to be able to be fixed, she owed it to the people of this city to take Dawn out of the picture.

Death, of course, wasn't really an option. Willow didn't think she could ever do that, at least not again, and certainly not to her own family (which Dawn was, whether there was blood relation or not was irrelevant). However she could open up a portal and send her... somewhere. Which would be hard - damn near impossible, really - but do-able if the situation called for it.

Hopefully, though, it wouldn't and Willow forced all thoughts of such an alternative from her mind as she moved toward the younger female. There was a look of concern on her face and her movements were deliberately not rushed or frazzled. Staying calm was important. Perhaps one of the most important things of all.

"Hey you," she greeted her, trying to keep her voice soft and as carefree sounding as possible. "Wanna tell me what's going on?"

Dawn sat on the ground in the furthermost end of the park from the busy section of the city, where everyone who had popped in from wherever they originally came from lived. She knew better than to stick around inside when Glory was so near. Granted, it was all in her head thanks to whatever was going on in the city, but she didn't know that. In her mind, Glory had somehow made it to Colligo and was trying to use her powers all over again. So Dawn did the only thing she could think of to do and left. No, it wouldn't stop anyone from getting hurt once the dimensional portal was open, but it might give them a better chance.

When she heard the sound of Willow's voice, Dawn looked up and revealed her tear-stained face and red, swollen eyes. She'd obviously been upset, and for good reason. She didn't want to be the cause of the world being sucked up into chaos. The last time hadn't succeeded, but this time, Glory assured her it would.

"She told me this place is different," Dawn stated tearfully.

Buffy knew that Willow didn't want her to come, but Dawn was her sister and there was no way she was leaving her alone. Oddly, focusing on Dawn pushed away Buffy's own fears, at least for the moment. The idea of losing Dawn wasn't something that scared her, because it was something she would never allow to happen. It pissed her off certainly, and it drove her to put a stop to this madness, but it didn't scare her. Because she would stop it. There was no alternative in her mind. And there was no way she was staying behind.

She stepped up next to Willow, her heart breaking at the pain on her sister's face. "This place is different, Dawnie," she said, "but nothing is going to happen to you. You aren't going to open anything. Do you think Wills and I would ever let anything bad happen to you?"

She didn't mention that it was probably all in Dawn's head, unsure of how her sister would handle that. She just did her best to reassure her that it would be all right. And it would. It had to be.

Dawn hadn't seen Buffy in quite some time, even though the two of them lived in the same hall. In any other situation, she would have scrambled to her feet and threw her arms around her sister's shoulders, hanging on like nothing else was sacred and never letting go. However, memories of Buffy's death the last time Glory had tried using her key mojo took over her entire brain, and she became even more upset than she'd initially been.

"No, she's here! Why won't any of you believe me?!" she cried, tears falling from her eyes that she furiously wiped at with trembling hands. "You have to get rid of me somehow, get me out of here before she gets a chance to finish what she started. She'll find me anywhere in the city, so you...you have to put me somewhere else. Or kill me. But...but I don't want to blow up the world! I don't want to hurt Tara and I don't want to kill Buffy."

Willow didn't agree with Buffy being there. She understood why her best friend was there, but that didn't mean she had to like it. However, that wasn't her biggest concern right now. No, her biggest concern was the obviously upset teenager and trying to calm her down before she worked herself into a state of hysteria.

"Okay," Willow finally spoke, pointedly not looking at the Slayer beside her but focusing wholly on Dawn. If she looked at Buffy, she knew she'd lose her nerve. Just knew it. "I promise, Dawn, if we can't help you, I'll hide you, okay?"

Could she do it? Willow still didn't know the answer to that. Didn't want to know the answer to it, truth be told. She really did hope that this was just a hallucination brought on by the fear running free within the city. However, she knew there was a chance that Dawn was right and Glory was here. And, if she was... that was bad. Really, really bad.

Stepping a bit closer to the distraught young woman, Willow exhaled slowly before speaking again. "I don't sense anything, Dawn. Nothing magical is coming from you," she commented. She wasn't going to call her a liar - especially since Dawn likely did believe Glory was in Colligo even if she wasn't and therefore wasn't actually lying about it. "You're still just Dawnie. Not a single flicker of Keyness anywhere."

Her gaze then, finally, turned to Buffy and she questioned, "Has there been any news about people having their brains drained?" she asked curiously, hoping that Buffy understood what she was trying to do. Use logic to prove that Glory wasn't around, or at least convince Dawn that she wasn't. If she was... well, they'd have to deal with that later.
