There was so much to do and frankly she was glad of the time that she could spend, just being herself and not whichever doll was needed today. She'd been careful about what she'd said and how she'd acted, though having Boyd know the truth frankly made it a little easier. Alpha and Mr Dominic didn't; the latter may not try to kill her himself, especially so openly but Alpha could never be predicted. And he'd learned that she couldn't either. To take her mind off the fact, Echo has taken the day out of the apartment; having a walk in the park, going for a swim... It had helped too, but so did knowing that those around her would see to it that Echo was protected. Sometimes being special had it's perks.
The day of activity, however slow and relaxing was still tiring and when Echo returned to the apartment she could think of nothing better than continuing the relaxing; and maybe sleeping. That would have to come later though. Stepping into the apartment Echo froze, terrified in her steps, afraid of even breathing. This... this couldn't be happening. How?
"I think you know. You pretend to be do special but really, you're just the same." Echo gasped, turning her head and then turning herself around on the spot. Not a lot terrified Echo; with thirty eight different experiences and memories it was hard to but...
"You want our protection but Echo, really?" She squinted her eyes shut, trying to block out the faces, the sight, hoping that that in turn would take away the sound. Her hope failed, an eerie chill running down her spine.
"I didn't do this, I wouldn't." She kept repeating it to herself, hoping that the thought could help banish... It was too much though, the blood, the pain... All too much.
"You like to pretend. But you're just like him."
Echo dropped herself down to the floor, hugging her knees up to her chest and keeping her eyes shut. She barely noticed the free falling tears, her brain now taking on a mind if it's own. She was Echo, she wouldn't... What if Alpha was right? And Mr Dominic? What if she were just like him?
