The captain lowered the tricorder to his lap and fixed her with a flat, stern, commanding look. "Keep your eyes on the road." If she was going to be driving off into the sunset with him in tow, she could at least ensure that he didn't end up flung through the windshield...which reminded him, he needed to put his seat belt on. He let go of the tricorder for a moment to do just that.
He looked up, intrigued by the change of topic to something that was actually relevant to what she'd spoke to him about on the network. "Right," he answered, listening to the rest. "Tricorder, and that's...actually not a bad idea."
Cue Kirk tapping away at the controls on it to set it to scan for anything and everything that might be useful.
