Noah had been coming by to make sure Claire was all right, a random impulse that he couldn't really explain. He worried about his daughter. A lot. She'd been through so much, and he knew that her power weighed heavily on her, and he wanted her to know that she could still talk to him. He might not normally have gone by so late at night, but what happened with Parker was bothering him too. And he just needed to see her.
He was outside her door when he heard the gunshot. He went into the apartment without even thinking, freezing as he saw Priestly holding Claire. She had shot herself in the head and for a brief moment, Noah's world collapsed. Then he noticced the wound. She had shot herself in the temple. Not the back of the head. She would heal. She would be fine. The relief was almost palpable, and he spoke to let Priestly know he was there.
"She'll heal," he said. "She didn't shoot herself anywhere fatal." He considered things for a moment. "But I am wondering why she felt the need to shoot herself in the first place." His tone made it clear that if this was somehow Priestley's fault, he would kill him slowly and painfully.
