Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Alexis and Harry (and Sirius and Remus?)
What: Poor girl needs a good old fashioned home cooked meal
When: Friday evening!
Where: Harry's place
Rating: PGish?  Probably anyhow
Status: In progress!

Alexis really did like take out.  Sure, she was usually the one telling her dad when they'd had enough Chinese, Pizza, Mexican, Indian, French, Japanese, Italian or any other kind of take out.  And she liked all of those foods.  But a meal cooked at home was something that she'd missed sorely since arriving in Colligo.  Lancelot was an awesome roommate, as far as first non-familial roommates went.  But Alexis couldn't help but miss her dad and her gram.  Even a little bit the complete insanity that was her mom, not that she'd spoken to her in ages.  Mostly, she missed the latter.

It was weird discovering that all these fictional people weren't actually fictional, but it didn't seem too hard to come to terms with.  And to think that one of the first people she'd talked with and sort of gotten to know was Harry Potter, not in an ironic but in a totally literal sense.  It was weird and cool.  Alexis left the apartment, heading up the stairs to where Harry lived.  It was weird that they hadn't run into one another, being that Harry only lived a floor away from her, but the town was more weird than coincidences.  So Alexis didn't think much of it as she knocked on the door.

Harry stumbled out of his room when he heard the door being knocked on. Sirius and Remus were, more than likely in the kitchen, being Sirius and Remus-y. In which his godfather pouted while Remus was constructive. Harry had seen enough times that he didn't necessarily have to be around them to affectionately roll his eyes. All he had to do was think upon it.

He was dressed neater than usual because of a guest, that was a guest, and not despite what he was certain going on his godfather's mind, a date. Not that he didn't like Alexis, but he hardly knew her. She was pretty but it, it wasn't like -- Harry stopped his train of thought. This is why he avoided even thinking about girls. He twisted and tripped himself up in his own mind.

Reaching the door, her straighted his shirt, more on nervous instinct, before opening it with a smile. "Hi. Come in. I'm Harry." Which was a terribly stupid thing to say. "Come in. The food should be ready in a bit."

"Hi," Alexis replied, smiling and trying not to too obviously look him over. He was a person, not a work of fiction. "Nice to meet you in person. Alexis, still." She walked in and looked around. All the apartments were pretty much the same. Except this one smelled of cooking food which was delicious. "Mm, smells good." The redhead grinned. "Did you know we only live a floor apart?"

"Hi." He repeated again. Because, really, what else did he have to say? Though he couldn't help the amused smile at her comment. "That's good to know. That you haven't suddenly become another person. It's nice to meet you in person too.

"It does." He agreed as he closed the door behind her. "It's good to know that if I left my godparents to fend for themselves, Remus could take care of Sirius." His words were teasing and automatic. He liked harassing Sirius. "Do we?" He asked curiously. "No. Can't say that I did. Then it wasn't too much of a walk .. that's good."

Alexis grinned. "That would sort of suck, wouldn't it? If all of a sudden I weren't anymore? Well I think it might." She smiled at Harry. "It's always good to know. I'm hoping my dad and gran aren't going completely crazy without me looking after them," she joked. Well, mostly. They were clearly the parents, but sometimes Alexis took over the parenting role. Precocious described her very well, sometimes. "Yeah, I'm on the first floor. No, not at all."

"It would," Harry whole-heartedly agreed. He almost flushed at the way the words had come out of his mouth when he listened to the rest of what she said. "They might not notice. I mean, I heard that while you're here, there's another you there." Because that made perfect sense ... "Does that make sense. It's like a time continuum thing." He went on badly explaining, trying to recall how Dumbledore had explained it with the time turner.

She couldn't help but smile back. And then grinned just a little bit more. "A time continuum thing," Alexis repeated with a small frown. "So it's sort of like I came here but I didn't really come here because I'm still there?" Time travel was confusing.

Harry brows furrowed slightly even as his small, sudden, frowned eased out into a crooked smile. "Yeah, something like that. Remus'd be better at explaining it than I ever could, probably. So you could ask him if you want to to know."

Alexis shrugged. "I'd rather not think of my dad with some other me. It's just a little too much, to be honest." She got on an intellectual level that it was her, but it still wasn't her. So she was a little jealous. Sue her, she was fifteen.
