Does anybody know how long this is gonna last? I really don't like bologna sandwiches all that much but that's what everything I eat tastes like when I touch it...

I'd suggest trying milkshakes, since it's a lot easier to avoid touching them, but I think that would be pretty awful if it went wrong.

But I still gotta touch it with my tongue when I swallow.

It's not very good, that's for sure.

I hope it's only a week. Maybe even less. I'm glad to have regular food again and all but bologna gets real old after a while.

I guess it could be worse, then. That doesn't sound very good at all.

I'm fine. I'm sorry. I just don't really know what to do. I keep waiting for walkers to show up, I think.

Please tell me that you've also gotten her things like clothes and other, various items that a girl her age probably needs.

I never said you were stupid. I just doubted you had a lot of experience in taking care of a pre-teen girl. If I'm wrong, then I stand corrected.

Things that girls use that are either completely different, or at least smell different, than the things guys use. Like shampoo. Deodorant. Feminine items, if she needs them. Things like that.

Well, I'd say it's not my place to step on your toes and offer to help where it may not be needed but, let's be honest. That's pretty much me in a nutshell.

So. Want me to take her shopping?

Darn. And here I was planning on taking her to a few nightclubs and maybe a midnight showing of some skeevy movie at a run down theater...

That was a joke, by the way. Seriously. I'll have her home before dark, no problem. And no need to thank me. It seems the least I can do, considering it's pretty obvious you're in over your head but are still willing to help her out despite that fact. That says a lot, for anybody bothering to pay attention.

anyone who don't help a kid out doesn't have much of a soul. especially a kid that don't have her mom around or anything familiar except me.

Well, to date, I've only known a few soulless creatures but I've definitely met people with souls who'd do the same. Which really only makes me slightly depressed in regards to the human race, now that I think about it.

So. What about Halloween? Are you taking her trick-or-treating?

I think you should at least ask her. She might not know it's an option.
