Boston is a city known for many things. Our culture, our sports, and also our crime. At times the last one outshines the rest dramatically, much to our misfortune. From the drugs, to the muggings, to the rapes, to the stick ups, and above all, Mob dealings. It’s no secret we’re one of the hot spots for the Families in the New England area, but at times it seems we just want to ignore it. Where it seems easier to just let those who think they own this city, which is far from a town, and can do what they please. Be it getting the best seats in a Sox game, the most expensive restaurant meals for free, to brutally murdering each other and dumping bodies in the streets. All because they seem to believe ‘Might makes Right’ when in reality all it does is just cause more wrong. The more they kill, the more they steal, the more drugs they pump into this city’s veins, everything they do and say is for the good of our beloved city is just a band-aid over a track mark.
Try as they might to ‘Keep it in the Family’ it leaks out like a corrosive acid. Into our streets that our children play in, the parks we walk in to enjoy the scenery, our work places where it seems we have the most simplest of job and nothing bad could go wrong there. It eats at our lives while we just try to get by and make ends meat. All it takes is one slip up, one mistake and that line that separates us and their dealings is erased and we’re left with the mess while they take to high ground to leave us scrambling. Most of your have seen it or been the victim yourself. A family member gone that was just there, your job that seemed so stable and wouldn’t go any where was pulled out from under you, your children suddenly strung out on the drugs they found from a friend of a friend that all leads back to the Families.
Now I know you’re all wondering, ‘What’s the point of this? We all know what’s going on.’ Well it seems as though in the past things have come to a lull, our streets are cleaner, our children just a bit safer, Our Families all that much more brighter. Now, it’s gone because anyone and everyone is game. For those of you who don’t know how the Families work, here’s a crash course. The Family had a Don, who is the Big Cajone. His word is law. Then you got your Boss who’s second in command. There’s your consigliore that is the advisor to the Don, the Captains that are under your Boss and give out orders. Finally there’s your grunts/soldiers that do most the dirty work. Drug running, fist-talk, and collecting. Again you’re questioning what this has to do with my article. Well, it’s all Men work. No women involved at all. Women are kept in the dark about most everything and if they know something, it’s a ninety-nine percent chance that it was found out on accident.
Mid-January, there was an incident with one of the Families. Women were brought into it. It’s a clear understanding between the Families that women are not included at all. No, ifs, ands, or butts. You cross that line, you are wiped off the map. You’ll be lucky if you see the next sunrise. Now with the women being brought in, rules are broken and everyone’s on their own. The way things seem to be going, we’re gonna have a reenactment of Gangs of New York coming our way. So for those of you that think that they’re doing good, that they’re helping, well remember; Once all the rules are gone, everyone’s in the game. No rules, now boundaries, that line that kept us ‘safe.’ It’s between us and them now. So we could either do it their way with Might or we can do it our way, Stand up to Them. Not violently, I don’t condone or suggest that in anyways. Just let them know, we won’t stand for it. We want our city back because it’s not their’s. It’s ours and always will be ours. No matter what they say or do.
