The Trialling Life of Bellatrix Lestrange
Poor Bellatrix. After the duel with Sirius and prisoner exchange, she was exhausted from being injured AND keeping on keeping on after the injuries, so her past few days have largely involved her lounging around in bed, being pleased for how clever she is with the PETER AS PET SPY thing.
She reported back and not only do Wilkes and her godfather continue to pick at each other, but Pettigrew has the gall to make demands of her. What a world. Not only that, but she graciously extends a hand of peace to her cousin Sirius (and by extension Andromeda and Regulus) if only they'd see the Right Side (her side, naturally) and it's flat out rejected.
Were this all not enough, Nott reveals to her that the Dark Lord is a half blood. She flips out, drags herself to the bathroom, charms the door locked as all hell and puts a silencing charm on the room and bawls in rage and confusion for an hour or so. Once it's all out, she spends another hour thinking intently, coming to the conclusion that naturally, the Dark Lord is rising above the impurities in his blood.
It makes her think of her niece. Nothing bad can come of that, naturally.
And REALLY, because things weren't bad enough, Rita Skeeter mentioned her in a most unflattering light in an article in the Prophet. Bella had been busy writing about how little she trusts the rest of the Death Eaters when it was revealed. Naturally, she is furious for how it will reflect on the family name, and whether her aunt will lecture her about it.
