[ ETC ] Personal History: Naminé is not one to speak at length about her past. In truth, a good portion of her history remains a mystery to her. Naminé was born to Thomas and Cassandra DeWitt in Pacific, Washington. Naminé's unique ability to experience the memories of others has been more of a curse than it has a gift. Without a full understanding of her abilities, or the knowledge of how to control them, Naminé has unwittingly created a patchwork memory comprised of not only her own memories, but of those of nearly every person she's touched in the last several years of her life. This caused no shortage of confusion for the poor girl, and for her parents; with psychologists unable to properly diagnose her, they eventually placed Naminé in a psychiatric institution for youth. Her year-long stay ended when her parents died in a car crash, and her new custodian, an aunt she had only met a handful of times, withdrew her from care. Her aunt, a nurse by the name of Claudia, tried to help Naminé to adapt to a more normal life, but being a working single-mother with three kids of her own to look after, quickly grew disheartened with the girl's disconnect from the world around her. Her research into alternative healing care facilities eventually lead her to Cid Kramer's Institute for Psychic Research. During their initial meeting, Naminé took to Cid in a way her aunt hadn't see her react to anyone. Naminé was enrolled just a couple of weeks later, and recently moved into the facility, with hopes of putting together the pieces and coming to terms with her gift. The engaging environment and newfound understanding of her own psyche has warmed Naminé's disposition substantially, though she is still prone to skittishness.
