Progress tended to be extremely slow. In her lifetime, Charlotte hadn't seen a lot of progress in how women were treated. Oh they may have had Queen Elizabeth rule the country on her own and bring it back to a state of prosperity, but women were still seen as little more than ornaments meant to decorate a man's arm and bear his children. That role had never been something Charlotte wanted. No, she wanted a more active role, and she did tend to lead a life that was a bit freer than most women tended to lead. A queen in her own right, Charlotte was more than suited for the role, and it was not one she would give up any time soon either. So perhaps she would live to see women be freed from their current standing in society. Yet she also enjoyed being under-estimated by people. It allowed her to keep her true intent hidden. It was part of what made her all the more dangerous.
"One never knows, sometimes all it takes is one excellent revolution to change things." How many times had Charlotte seen such things come to pass? And not necessarily just violent revolution. "Though one does not need to look far to find a place where women are not so oppressed." It was, of course, a reference to being part of a vampire hive. Though the longer she was with the other woman, the more she was certain she wasn't human.
The loathing was not missed by Charlotte. She could spot the desire for change from a long distance away. "It has been quite a few years since I have been there." Which was a slight understatement. "What sort of interests do you have? If you wanted to still be a performer, perhaps the theatre might be something?" Charlotte had a strong connection with the theatre, she could easily attempt to help this woman find another path there. "Though, of course, that is not the only choice." She would wait to hear if this woman had other interests before adding more suggestions for consideration.
