"Loz isn't here--"
The two silver-haired men spoke in unison when they emerged from the building. They stopped talking at the same time that their verdant-coloured eyes stared at each other. It was a fact, not a question, for they didn't feel the third shinentai's presence. Of course they had known during the entire time they spent in the Welcome Center, while they watched tapes and read the material left there for them to study.
"Maybe he was excluded because he'd confuse Jenova with Geneva?" quipped the one with the longest hair, Yazoo.
"Hnn," was all that Kadaj retorted, knowing his 'brother' wasn't really being cruel, knowing more than his apparent age might lead strangers to assume about how much he understood life and death.
They resembled one another closely but not completely. The taller and seemingly older one, Yazoo, wore his long leather coat totally unrestrained. If seen in silhouette, he could be mistaken for some sort of slender monk in robes. The one with silver hair barely brushing his shoulders and part of the fringe always falling over his right eye, Kadaj, belted his coat flaps around his thin thighs just above the knees. Both wore weapons hanging behind them from leather straps crisscrossing their chests and backs. Yazoo's was a holstered gunblade while Kadaj had a double-bladed katana in a sheath.
They broke eye contact simultaneously to look up at the domed ceiling high above them.
"What to do you think, doesn't this sound like a world Mother could ride through the cosmos?" Yazoo wondered sarcastically.
Kadaj stopped studying the murky sky over the dome to blink at his soul, his brother, himself really. "So Sephiroth would have lied to us," he said with vibes of anger.
Yazoo tilted his head, as he frequently did, watching the other for a moment. When he moved, it was like a statue returning to life. He reached for the weapon behind him, taking Velvet Nightmare into his left hand. Yazoo gazed at the buildings around them, wondering which window he should shoot out just to see if anyone else reacted. They certainly didn't see another soul on the streets right then.
Kadaj didn't draw his katana, though his gloved left hand gripped the hilt of Souba without his thinking about it the second his brother unholstered the gunblade. He gestured with his right hand, waving them forward to explore this new world.
