"What?" He was ignoring the egg comment for now, because he was very concerned because she thought she did something wrong. He didn't want her to think that, no matter what. She had technically done something wrong. Something very, very wrong. But it wasn't her fault. She was a kid, she didn't understand that sort of thing. He went back over to her.
"No, no, Lorena," he said. "I'm sorry. You didn't do anything. And I don't hate eggs." He rolled his shoulders back and willed himself to loosen up a bit. "I'll sit with you while you eat."
