Clarke wondered how this could get more awkward. Was that even possible? Like if Octavia came over and didn't knock and saw them like this? Yes, that would definitely add to the awkwardness of the situation. Part of her wanted to tell Bellamy to just go. But part of her wanted to ask him to stay. They could sleep it off together and no one would be the wiser. She was pretty sure that asking that of him would violate whatever it was that she'd had with Lexa. She didn't feel good about that either.
Clarke hadn't moved much, she couldn't. Each tiny movement caused her head to hurt and her stomach to turn. She wasn't even sure if she would make it to the bathroom in the likely event that she did get sick. And then if she did get sick while Bellamy was around, he might think it was because of him and not the alcohol, and boy would that send the wrong message.
She tried to listen to his words, really tried. He was right, this place was insane and they had been trying to blow off steam. She didn't for one minute think that he'd... "No, it wasn't like that." She said in agreement. "I know. It just happened." And how it had happened, oh boy. More and more of it was coming back to her now.
"It's okay, we'll talk about it later when we both have clearer heads." Clarke told him. He could go and she would sleep and hopefully they'd never speak of this again. But something told her they would be revisiting this conversation sooner rather than later. And part of her felt bad for essentially kicking him out. It was for the best though, if there was something there...they shouldn't act on it. Clarke didn't want to lose another person she cared about because of their feelings for her.
