It seemed Esme still had so much to learn about the Cirque, well, people in general really. But with a life spent mainly on her own (and even when it wasn't, she'd still been sheltered), it was only natural that she was a little..awkward, around people. She didn't understand the need for recompense. Didn't recognize ulterior motives. She just assumed everyone was as open and honest as she was. It was almost comical how trusting she was to people she didn't find frightening.
Oded? He fit somewhere in between. She didn't feel particularly frightened by him. He wasn't forceful or mean. He'd actually been rather sweet to her wolf form. But whatever he'd done when he touched her..that was a little worrying. It was the unknown.
That had been her reason for the kiss. Purely to find out more. But she couldn't really deny the little thrill that ran through her at just the slightest of touches. Her eyelids fluttering open before she'd even been aware they were closed, looking up at him with her bright silvery eyes as her fingers slid from his shoulder. Pressing lightly against petal soft lips as if confused about her actions.
Which was probably why she didn't really react to his seemingly hurt words. Ears only perking up when he explained himself. "You seen my memories?" She asked, letting her hand drop, but only as far as the front of his shirt. "Please don't. I.. I don't want anyone to know." She looked almost pleading as she spoke, head slightly tilting in the direction of his soothing hand. Hoping that he really was a man of his word. Because no one could know. She didn't even have the strength to tell her brother about the hunters.
