Christmas was chaotic, but chaos was something Violeta knew how to navigate. She had the energy for it: she could shop, decorate, cut down her own tree, and get eggnog and homemade cookies on the table in a day without breaking a sweat. Dante was hardly ever impressed by this, but not even his continuous refusal to try the baked goods she lovingly made for him was enough to break her holiday spirit.
This was partially because she could convince him to do things he would not do otherwise, making it a little easier to forgive his blatant treachery.
She paused long enough to scoff and give him a look, amusement in her eyes that said oh, you're cute. "I am not asking," she said, placing her hands on her hips, a grin working its way across her face. She did not like staying cooped up in the apartment all the time, especially not when there were so many winter events outside for them to enjoy. From her restlessness came the perfect idea. "We are going iceskating."
