There was no urgency in Eric. He'd gotten rid of it that morning, purged his violent urges so he could be on a more even keel with Gabe, who was human, who was protected by the Cirque's rules, and who, above all of that, was sweet and kind. Eric would have said that Gabe reminded him of one of his sons, if that didn't make what they were about to do decidedly uncomfortable.
The kiss was just as sweet as Gabe was himself and Eric smiled against his lips as Gabe deepened it, yielding control to the human easily. There was nothing Gabe could want from him that Eric wouldn't be up for giving. He was completely unencumbered by human social norms and thought nothing of giving Gabe control. Maybe it would make Gabe feel more comfortable.
He did lean back, though, to rest on the mattress on his back, bringing Gabe with him, tucked him in against his side. The kiss continued, Eric's hand in Gabe's hair loosely to keep him where he was, Eric getting increasingly lost in sensation, in connection. His other hand looped around Gabe's back, pulling just slightly, wanting to guide Gabe on top of him.
