Gabe flashed Eric a sheepish smile after being caught adjusting the thermostat, though he was glad that the merman said no more about it. Both of them deserved some degree of comfort, especially if they were to stay inside of the trailer for a little while. He already felt significantly warmer, both from the blanket and the gentle touches that Eric placed against his shoulder. It was comfortable, easy, and pleasant. Gabe could ask for nothing more from his host.
After taking another, much smaller sip from his glass, Gabe reached out to place his drink beside Eric's on the table before returning his full attention to man across from him. "I like a lot," he said, nodding with a smile as he brought a hand up to gently card his fingertips through Eric's hair. It just seemed natural to do so, given the position of his head against Gabe's shoulder. "If I looked like you, I'd probably never stop staring at myself in the mirror." Then, as an afterthought and with a little laugh, Gabe said: "And I'm really glad you don't think I look like an angler fish."
