Swallowing hard, Gabriel watched as several of those droplets of water fell victim to gravity and trailed a path across Eric's skin. Momentarily he wondered what it would be like to lean in and follow them with the tip of his tongue before he snapped himself out of the daydream, catching the merman's eyes and pretending that he couldn't feel the familiar heat of embarrassment creeping up his neck. "But swimming around being glowy works for you," he said with enthusiasm. It wasn't a sight he was going to forget in a hurry and he was sure that any other human who bore witness to such a thing would say the same. "Like, really well. If it's not broke, don't try to fix it."
The nudge to his arm, while a bit surprising, wasn't as unpleasant as Gabe thought it might have been. Eric's skin was cool and damp from the water, yet it didn't feel any different from human skin, which was one of the many things that had crossed his mind over the past few hours. It urged him into motion, his feet falling in step with Eric's as they exited the lagoon enclosure and made their way outside.
"It is that obvious?" Gabe said teasingly, glancing at the man beside him as they made their way across the grounds. While he was trying to walk slowly in an attempt to bide enough time to mentally talk himself out of another bout of word vomit, the anticipation of what might possibly come next once they reached the trailer kept his pace brisk. "I grew up next to the beach so I always heard stories about mermaids, but I never thought they existed. Guess I was wrong, huh? You seem pretty real to me." Then, to emphasise his point, Gabriel reached his hand out and brushed his fingers across Eric's shoulder and down his arm. Yes, definitely real.
