Esme, the sweet innocent little thing, still did believe in a lot of of those things. She believed fate would one day carry her home or at least to somewhere safe, where she wouldn't have to worry about hunting her next meal or being found by more hunters. She certainly believed in mates. Though at her age and still acting like a child..she didn't expect anyone to fall for her. She was a broken little thing. She knew that. Even if she did find someone she was inexplicably drawn to, they'd probably want someone else. She'd come to terms with that a long time ago.
Now, at least she had her brother. She beamed into his shoulder and let out a little giggle at his reply to her question. "Only most of the time?" She asked with a playful grin as she leaned back a little to look up at him. Twenty-two years and he hadn't altered a bit. "I..I went for a walk?" She scrunched her nose up like a child and laughed at how stupid that sounded. But honestly she couldn't tell him what had really happened. Not just yet. She wanted to be happy, she wanted him to be happy. They'd just found each other again. This was not the time for the torture talk. He'd only blame himself and she knew there was nothing he could have done.
Luckily he saved her from having to explain herself by picking her up, making her squeak and hold onto him a little tighter so he wouldn't drop her. "Tyson! Put me down!" She demanded, though with the way she was giggling it probably didn't hold much weight. She was just so happy to be there with him, she was pretty sure she wouldn't stop smiling for a week. Her upbeat nature was going to end up getting on his nerves. "Don't lie to me, mister, I know you've just been all grumpy and you don't want people to see you smile!"
