Closer now, Kit was able to see the slight colour of a post-meal flush spread across Booker's skin. It was clear that the other vampire felt better for having eaten, even if it hadn't been as much as he perhaps needed. For now, however, it would suffice.
Catching Booker's eye as the other man looked to him, Kit flashed him a smile and offered him a shrug. "It was nothing," he said, brushing off what he thought of as a small act of kindness for one of his own. It hadn't been a hardship and he hadn't exactly gone out of his way. "Just return the favour in future if I ever find myself in the same position, and then we'll call ourselves even."
It was then that Kit remembered that the pair of them hadn't even been properly introduced yet. Crossing paths like ships in the night didn't count. "Kit Turner," he said, extending his hand with a playful look. "We probably should've done this before I brought you dinner."
