The act of feeding was an intimate one. It would have been polite of Kit to turn away and leave Booker to his meal without observation, yet he found himself unable to do so. He watched, almost transfixed, as the human approached the other vampire as instructed, his eyes following the path of Booker's mouth to the man's throat. Despite the distance between them, he could hear the thrum of the man's heartbeat spike as his neck was punctured and Booker began to feed, though his instruction to remain still prevented the beat becoming frenzied.
No sooner had it begun, it was over. Kit watched as the human backed away, a hand coming up to his neck as he turned with a dazed expression. Flashing him a smile, Kit pat him on the shoulder as their paths crossed and he moved to walk back the way he had come mere moments before. With luck, Kit's gift would hold strong and the man would not remember what had happened.
Once more alone, Kit's full attention turned to Booker. "Feel better?" he asked, stopping just shy of the other vampire.
