Despite not feeling such a thing in that moment, Kit was no stranger to the sensation of supernatural hunger. Granted, he had never allowed himself to reach as dire a state as Booker seemed to be in, but he knew from experience how awful it felt to go even a little too long between meals. It caused a small crease to form between his brows as he frowned, watching as Booker's rigid posture relaxed in spite of the tense undertone in his voice. The other vampire didn't seem to be doing well at all.
"I'm guessing that you didn't take part in the Hunt," Kit said, stating the obvious in an attempt to break the ice. He was curious as to why the other vampire hadn't partaken in what was essentially an all-you-can-eat buffet, but he didn't think it wise to come right out and ask why. Given how on edge Booker was, prying likely wouldn't get him anywhere. "How long has it been?"
