“It is open,” Khepri replied, but as she turned she saw it was an unneeded direction as the door was already part way open. She quickly dumped the remaining shards into the nearby metal bin, hoping that she had gotten the last of them as the last thing she needed was to be jabbed by an errant shard sometime in the future. With one last glance sent towards the other cobras, Khepri faced the newcomer.
Straightening her posture, Khepri looked him over once before moving their conversation along. “Thank you again,” she began, a small smile sitting on her lips. "This is the lamp I was speaking of." She stepped aside to gestured towards the lamp which she had pulled out from where she had carefully nested it when she had first taken over control of this trailer. "It would be a shame to have to give up on it. It worked incredibly well."
Khepri moved a little more out of the way to stand between the cobras and the lamp. They were on edge, still anxious because of the break in and they were more distrustful of strangers than she was. She hissed, reminding them that this man had nothing similar to the description they had given her of the intruder and they just coiled up tighter, bright eyes narrowed and pointed in the man's direction. The most minuscule shake of her head was her only sign of disapproval and she kept her attention focused on the man there to help her.
