"Your secret is safe with me," Kennedy told him with a wink, holding a finger over her lips to indicate her ability to keep quiet. She dragged her feet on the ground to stop her swinging, standing and heading to the rope with her usual bouncy energy. "Sure, I'll show you again," she said. "Lemme fix the music though, it's way better with the whole shebang."
She changed direction and headed for her music instead, restarting the song and then jogging out to the rope. "So, dramatic slow climbing," she narrated as she followed the beginning of the routine. "Climb climb climb, pause for some pretty arms and a 'oh goodness, is this a rope I'm climbing?' Then we make a loop here, around and under, aaand tension on the loop..." She was careful letting go of the rope once her foot was tied in; the knot was meant to come undone, and if it wasn't done right, she'd plummet as soon as she pulled her free foot out of the loop. But she knew what she was doing, and she wasn't seriously afraid that the knot was wrong. She'd been doing it too many years to fuck it up now.
"And then streeeeeetch," as she pulled her free leg behind her head. "And here we go." Grasping the end of the rope in both hands, she gave it one hard yank, freeing her foot. Using the downward momentum as the rope released, she swung her legs horizontal to the ground, let go of the rope, twisted, and caught it after falling roughly half the distance she'd climbed. She was close enough to the ground after that so she just slid down the rest of the way, bowing with the rope gripped in one hand still. "Ta-daaa!" she sang out with a flourish.
