Ana had considered being locked in during the Hunt. She usually didn't hunt or eat people, that had never been her thing. But the thought of being out, getting to stretch her legs and unleash the violence inside her, at least for a little while, was too good to pass up. So when she heard the horns, and the baying of hounds, she left her trailer and stalked onto the grounds.
It took the humans a while to realize something was wrong. And then the whole atmosphere changed. Panic and fear spread through the air, and Ana could taste it on the back of her tongue. The big cat inside her wanted control, it was the full moon, the Hunt was on, it wanted to feel their blood on its muzzle. In the space of a few heartbeats, Ana was gone, and the black jaguar appeared.
She didn't remember much after that, besides the cracking of bones, the screaming of victims, and the smell of blood hanging thickly in the air. The beast was purring with contentment, even as Ana slumbered somewhere inside.
She was catching her breath near a little river, when she saw the strange woman. Ana knew her, but the cat did not, and it bristled. Ana's mind stirred as she tried to calm the beast. She was an employee, they couldn't hurt her. And it probably wouldn't be wise to try.
As she watched, the woman stood, covered in blood and shaking her head. Now both cat and Ana were curious. They stalked forward, sniffing at the man, trying to get a sense of who he was.
