Since the moment the announcement had gone out, Ariadna had been preparing her outfit. Were it for the look, she could have just worn anything and it wouldn't matter. But for the power, Ariadna had a plan in place.
The dress she worked on as a base was simple enough - loose enough to move in, tight enough to not move itself to much away from her - but the coverings were what would make it. The finished dress fell to just below her knees and was covered in candy - licorice and sherbet straps were woven to make a base, held together with magic and sugar glue in equal amounts. On top of this it was covered in a cacophony of colourful treats - skittles, rock candy, jelly beans, gummy bears, gum balls, chocolate coins.
Ariadna glittered and shone and stood out in a completely different way to anyone else in the cirque that night and she was buzzing with power. Not only was she wearing all that sugar, she'd consumed almost as much in the last hour and it made her fingers seem to crackle with electricity.
She tried, for a moment, to not listen to the screams - but once she did, they made her shiver in a way that she usually kept unfamiliar to herself. Ariadna honestly had little interest in cruelty, but power? Power was different, and being able to kill was one of the purest forms of power.
Tonight she would embrace it and join the coven she so often showed little interest in. Tonight she would happily be a witch among witches.
With that in mind she went straight to the cauldron, knowing she would find her 'sisters' there. So cheesy, but for tonight Ariadna might play at cheesy when it suited.
Elia was already there and Ariadna smiled at her, more interested in the witch than the other two there. "Blessed Be," she said, in a tone dripping mockery at the phrase. And then, more to everyone: "What a night already."
