Edge of the Maze | 1:30 a.m. | Ilinca & Byron
Hearing a trap go off on Ilinca's side, Byron kept as quiet as he could move. The eyes of the predator lowered and watching. Of all things that he had seen people leaving the maze covered in, Byron preferred if he did not become glittered in any manner. The idea of people's amusement in it confused him and only deepened the knowledge that humans were dumb animals.
Steadying his steps, he did not notice a ghost step out from around a hedge behind him and grab his shoulder. Spinning on his heel, a blade pulled from his sleeve and he slashed through it. The action set off a trap of purple powder that covered Byron's face and hair. He could wipe off his face, but the hair kept the colour.
