Kit didn't miss a word, listening closely as Mona began to open up about herself. While it might not have been the most interesting of stories, he was still curious as to what had made the redhead at his side into the woman that he had grown so quickly fond of.
"And you said you weren't special," he teased, gently nudging her shoulder with his own. "You're already different from your family, even if you don't think it's anything noteworthy." Then, with his expression softening, he continued. "I was the oldest boy in my family so I don't know what it's like to be the baby. It makes a lot more sense as to why your sisters are so protective though."
