Divination Games | 8pm | Mona & Kit
It seemed strange to Mona, but the idea of him being a vampire seemed... well, it seemed fine. Perhaps she would have had more problem with it if this had been the first time even learning that vampires existed, but she'd had two weeks to come to terms with that fact now and had added it to the list alongside everything else strange at the cirque.
But along with that, Kit had held her close in the dark last night and stroked her hair. He had been visibly upset but what he'd been forced to do to that girl. That wasn't a monster. That was a boy who had been changed into something different.
But never like this, he'd said about the murder. Never so needlessly or violently.
She thought for a very long time what she wanted to say in return to Kit's revelation but it was hard to know, and her expression was wary and conflicted.
Eventually she reached out and took both his hands in her (dropping the apple peel first) and gave them a slight squeeze. His cold hands made a lot more sense now, she realised.
"It doesn't change anything," Mona told him with a little smile. "I saw who you were last night, and you're my friend."
