Issac gave Emika a confused look. "Why would Marcus' gender matter to the title?" That was really the end of that conversation though and Issac freely moved on to the rest of the subjects presented as they walked. The young mentalist did not know really what family meant. He remembered vaguely his childhood and what it had been like to have his mother in his life but so many of those memories blurred against the backdrop of thousands of voices that continued to ring inside his mind.
"Well, yeah? Why else do you think I'm a Mentalist? Have the shows are about being true to ourselves while simultaneously showing truth to the outside world who would have a panic attack if they knew we were real, try to kill us, and likely die in larger groups than they do here because a lot of these creatures reel themselves in for the sake of the rules here and the show." Nothing he said had pauses between each sentence yet were said in a casual manner as if the subject was old hat.
"A lot of us have books if you want to borrow some. Just if you borrow some from Prosper remember to remind him because he'll forget otherwise. He has such a fun mind, set on repeat." Issac nodded again.
"Scary and Incredible... yeah, that's about right. It's really the look we are going for here." He chuckled, continuing to pull her along. "When the sun goes down and the lights aren't on it can be intimidating with all the lurkers in the shadows and sharp teeth and dripping hunger from some of the creatures, but in the end, you are a fellow employee and they can't hurt you and we can't hurt them and it's a weird sort of peace."
