A glint of mischief appeared in Kit's eyes at Mona's words, though it faded a little at her clarification. His smirk, however, didn't waver. "Obviously," he said with a humorous undertone. "We'll see how it goes."
In having been so caught up in the conversation, Kit hadn't noticed the passing of time. The sounds of the Cirque had grown louder as they had chatted, the darkness growing more intense around them. It wouldn't be long before patrons began to appear at the tea station as they explored the grounds, and so Kit felt as though now was a good time to take his leave.
"It's been a pleasure, Miss Mona," he said, standing from his chair and moving around the table. Leaning down, he once again picked up Mona's hand and brought it to his lips. The kiss he placed there was more lingering than the first, though no less chaste. "If you ever need to find me, I'll be at The Hanged Man."
