The reaction to his comment was more delightful than Kit could have hoped. He watched as Mona's cheeks darkened with a blush, partially covered by her hair before she was once again looking in his direction in order to clarify. Everything about the situation contributed towards the grin that had sprung up on his face. Really, it was too endearing.
"I know," he said casually, reaching out to wrap both hands around the teacup once it had been filled. As with most things, it looked small cupped in the palms of his hands, but the warmth that radiated from it was pleasant as it seeped into his cool skin. "You smell lovely. So does the tea, but you? Wonderful."
The notes of chilli were stronger as Kit lifted the tea closer to his face, a small crease forming between his brows. He would never have thought to put such a thing in tea. "Where did you come up with this idea?" he asked curiously, glancing across the table before finally bringing the cup to his lips and taking a small, testing sip.
