"It seems so, love," Byron replied a tint of amusement in his tone. Byron's well-practiced emotional responses came almost second nature after so many years of personal interacts with those who had the proper chemical responses to stimuli such as another person hurting. Not that Byron's were always appropriate, but no one expected him to be in shock when a 'friend' walked by covered in blood. It was a fairly typical event, after all, just an odd time of day for it.
